CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR PROUD PERMATA DUNIA ON THE LAUNCH OF MYKOPITIAM 🎉

Heartiest congratulations to Mr. Kelvin Tan Chun Hou, Permata Dunia FOM, Class of 2014, on the successful official launch of MyKopitiam at Multimedia University (MMU).

The launch event, held on 14 May 2026 at MMU Melaka, was officiated by YBhg. Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President/Chief Executive Officer of MMU, and marked a meaningful milestone in strengthening entrepreneurship and university–industry collaboration within the campus ecosystem. The event was further enlivened by a vibrant 24 Festive Drums performance, followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremony and plaque signing, symbolising the official opening of MyKopitiam as a new experiential learning space on campus.

A key highlight of the event was the introduction of the EDC Apprenticeship Programme, where selected students received their offer letters to gain hands-on experience in real business operations.

Special appreciation to Mr. Kelvin for his inspiring journey from MMU student to entrepreneur, and for giving back to the university by creating meaningful opportunities that empower future student entrepreneurs.

On 9 May 2026, the MMU Alumni Society successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2026 at MMU Cyberjaya, bringing together Permata Dunia from various graduating years, both in person and online 🤍

The session was officiated by YBhg. Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President and Chief Executive Officer of Multimedia University. Also in attendance were Prof. Ir. Dr. Zulfadzli Yusoff, Vice President of Student Experience and Entrepreneurship Development (SEED), and Associate Professor Dr. Ong Jeen Wei, Director of Alumni Engagement, Career and Entrepreneurship Development (ACE).

The Centre for Alumni would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the outgoing committee for their dedication, commitment, and contributions in strengthening the MMU alumni community throughout their term. Thank you for your time, effort, and passion in serving fellow Permata Dunia ❤️

We would also like to congratulate the newly appointed MMU Alumni Society Committee, led by President Ts. Syahrir Nizam Jalis, together with Vice Presidents Ms. Hasna Hashim and Mr. Khairil Effendy. The Executive Committee members are Mr. Kamal Mokri, Ms. Siti Jamila Syuhada, Mr. Akram Mohd Sharif, Mr. Engku Fariez Engku Azahan, Mr. Eliasaph Wan, Mr. Uwais Al-Qarni Anwar Ridwan, Mr. Ameerul Asyraf Md Nasir, and Mr. Harith Hazim Zulkifli.

The Centre for Alumni looks forward to working closely with the new committee in strengthening alumni engagement, fostering meaningful connections among Permata Dunia, and creating more meaningful initiatives and opportunities for the MMU alumni community.

Currently serving as Vice President of TM Global Data Centres, Mr. Syahrir has built an impressive career in the technology and digital infrastructure industry, reflecting the excellence and leadership qualities of MMU alumni.

What an insightful and engaging session we had today with our Permata Dunia!

A big thank you to Ms. Rosie Noorahim (Permata Dunia, Class of 2011) for sharing her valuable industry experience and real-world perspectives. The session was not only informative but also highly interactive, asking thoughtful questions, and gaining clarity on what truly matters beyond the classroom.

From integrity and governance to career readiness, Ms. Rosie highlighted the importance of making the right decisions, not just getting the numbers right. It was inspiring to see students connect theory with real-life expectations of the accounting profession.

We hope everyone walked away feeling more prepared, confident, and motivated for the journey ahead.
