12 September 2025 - The Vice-Chancellors’ Council for Private Universities (VCCPU) successfully convened its 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mushtak Al-Atabi, President of VCCPU and CEO and Provost of Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, and was attended by 22 representatives from private universities across Malaysia.

Prof. Dr. Mushtak opened the session by welcoming both returning and new members, while extending his appreciation for the continued support and contributions of fellow committee members in his welcoming remarks. The agenda proceeded with the confirmation of minutes from previous meetings, followed by comprehensive updates on VCCPU’s activities for 2024 and 2025 presented by Prof. Dr. Azmawani Abd Rahman, VCCPU Secretary and President & Chief Executive Officer of Putra Business School. This was succeeded by a financial report delivered by Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Samsinar Md. Sidin, VCCPU Treasurer and Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Tun Abdul Razak.

The key highlight of the AGM was the election of the new Executive Board Members for the 2025 - 2027 session. VCCPU extends its warmest congratulations to the newly elected members and wishes them every success in their tenure.
