LIDC is back for its 2016 edition. This year, we bring to you an event that's not just a debating championship. LIDC 2016 is incorporating two new elements into its value, a public speaking category and career mapping seminars & workshops. Our goal for the 2016 edition of LIDC is to bring together the benefits of oratory and critical thinking skills to the process of planning a career in order to equip students with the necessary information to be able to make a sound career choice from the onset.

The details are as follows:
Date: 25th - 27th March 2015
Tournament cap: 80 Teams
Institutional cap: 3 Teams
Format: Asian Parliamentary Debating style & Public Speaking (impromptu & prepared speeches
Adjudicators Policy: NIL (Institutions are only required to send debate teams)
Venue: Limkokwing University of Creative & Technology (LUCT), Cyberjaya
Registration Fee: FOC (inc. Accommodation)
Cash Prizes: More than MYR8,500 in total

Registration Instructions
1. Fill out the Online Registration Form to express interest and reserve participation slots,
2. Fill out the hard copy of registration form as well as the school approval & guarantee of attendance,
4. Send the filled out hard copy of the registration form and school approval via fax to 03-83178823 by Friday, 18th March 2016
5. You will receive a confirmation of registration from us to inform you if you were successful in securing participation or are on the wait-list.

Eligibility
This event has been designed to primarily benefit students who are in the later stages of their secondary education and are actively concerned with the career options as well as prospects. Only students of the following groups are eligible to participate:
1. Students who have completed their SPM (or equivalent) and have received their results
2. Students who will be sitting for SPM (or equivalent) in 2016/ 2017
3. Students in their final year of a diploma/ vocational programme at a Polytechnic
4. Students currently pursuing Pre-University programmes (Lower 6, Upper 6, A-Levels & similar)

Event Format
1. The Debate challenge will be hosted in the Asian Parliamentary format where each team of debaters consists of 3 students,
2. The Public Speaking challenge will require one student to represent each team in the competition. The preparation of speeches will be a group collaboration between the 3 students on the team.
