Liew Yiher, an SPM graduate from SMK Bukit Jelutong in Selangor, is currently enrolled in a Chinese-taught foundation programme at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT).

Yiher chose HIT for its reputation in science and engineering, its academic resources and its well-equipped campus. He also hopes to broaden his horizons, make friends from around the world and experience Harbin’s climate and daily life firsthand.

After completing the foundation programme, Yiher plans to apply for HIT’s undergraduate programme in Computer Science and Technology. We wish him a fulfilling time in Harbin as he works towards his goal!

来自雪兰莪 SMK Bukit Jelutong 的 SPM 毕业生刘奕赫，目前正在哈尔滨工业大学修读中文授课的预科课程。

Penang students, are you ready to embrace the new opportunities brought by the semiconductor industry and Industry 4.0?

Penang is one of Malaysia’s key hubs for the semiconductor and manufacturing industries. To help students explore further study pathways in these fields, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) recently participated in an education fair at SMJK Jit Sin, providing higher education guidance and introducing programmes related to emerging industries, including Robot Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Encapsulation Technology, Integrated Circuit Design and Integrated Systems, and Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering.

During the event, HIT also presented the “Student Recruitment Base” plaque to the Principal of SMJK Jit Sin, Mr Gnoh Kam Fat, officially establishing a student recruitment partnership between the two institutions. Moving forward, both institutions will further strengthen their collaboration in education exchange and talent development.

To help students plan for university, the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) recently visited SMJK Jit Sin II SPS for an information session. The team introduced HIT’s admission pathways and undergraduate programmes, shared what campus life in Harbin is like, and answered students’ questions about studying in China.

In May, Principal Lee Keng Hong visited HIT to sign a partnership agreement establishing SMJK Jit Sin II SPS as a student recruitment partner school. During this visit, the HIT team presented him with the partner school plaque, marking the next step in the partnership.

We hope the session helped Jit Sin students explore the university options that suit them. We look forward to welcoming the first group to HIT in September 2027!

为了帮助学生提早规划升学方向，哈尔滨工业大学近日来到威南日新国中举办升学宣讲会，向同学们介绍哈工大的入学途径、本科专业，以及哈尔滨的校园环境与生活情况，并回答大家对赴中国升学的提问。

今年5月，威南日新的李经丰校长曾前往哈工大签署生源基地合作协议。这次到访，哈工大也将生源基地牌匾交到李校长手中，见证双方合作迈出新的一步。

希望这次宣讲能帮助日新学子找到适合自己的升学方向。期待2027年9月，在哈工大校园与首批日新学子相见！

The Mid-Autumn Festival is like a letter of reunion written by the moonlight. Today, the festive vibe across the HIT campus is stronger than ever, with special 'Kung Fu' mooncakes delivered right to the students.

Recently, Harbin Institute of Technology participated in an education fair held at SMK Menglembu in Ipoh, providing the latest higher education information for students preparing to sit for their SPM and STPM examinations.

STPM graduates who meet the admission requirements may directly apply for undergraduate programmes open to international students at HIT, covering fields such as engineering & technology, business & management, humanities & social sciences, and Design. Depending on the programme and their individual preferences, students may choose to study in Chinese or English.

SPM graduates can also progress to HIT’s undergraduate programmes through a Foundation Programme, preparing them for their future studies in China.

日前，哈尔滨工业大学参与了在怡保万里望中学举办的教育展，为即将应考 SPM 和 STPM 的学生提供升学资讯。

The 17th China Undergraduate Physics Tournament (CUPT) recently concluded with an outstanding performance by Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). All three HIT undergraduate teams received first-prize honours, while the team from the Harbin campus claimed the competition’s only national championship title. Following its first three-peat from 2020 to 2022, HIT has now achieved another three consecutive victories from 2024 to 2026!

Since making its CUPT debut in 2012, HIT has competed at the national level for 15 consecutive years, reached the national finals 13 times and claimed 10 national championship titles—the strongest record among Chinese universities. Over the past 15 years, more than 110 students have represented or supported HIT at the national competition, while over 1,700 have taken part in intensive project research through the university’s selection and preparation programme.

Driven by curiosity and guided by dedicated mentors, students learn to tackle complex problems, overcome challenges and gradually become independent researchers. This is how HIT turns academic passion into meaningful growth.

近日，第十七届中国大学生物理学术竞赛（CUPT）落下帷幕。哈尔滨工业大学3支本科生参赛队伍全部荣获一等奖，其中校本部代表队勇夺全国唯一冠军！继2020年至2022年实现“三连冠”后，哈工大又于2024年至2026年连续三年夺冠，再次成就“三连冠”！

自2012年参赛以来，哈工大本科生已连续15次征战CUPT全国赛，13次进入全国决赛，共斩获10次全国冠军，成绩居全国高校首位。15年来，累计110余名学生入选全国赛参赛及支持团队，1700余名学生通过校赛备赛深入参与项目研究。

以兴趣为起点，以良师为支撑，让学生在解决问题与克服困难的过程中，逐步走向独立研究，这正是哈工大人才培养的力量！

As autumn begins, the campus of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) welcomes its 2026 cohort of students from around the world.

HIT held its 2026 Opening Ceremony at the main campus in Harbin today. Addressing the new students, HIT President Han Jiecai encouraged them to embrace artificial intelligence and digital technologies as tools for expanding their horizons, while remaining thoughtful, clear-minded and independent in an increasingly diverse world.

He also encouraged the students to stay true to their values, approach others with warmth and compassion, and carry a strong sense of responsibility for their country as they pursue knowledge and truth.

Parents, family members and friends of the new students were also invited to attend the ceremony, joining them in celebrating this memorable milestone as they begin their journey at HIT.

初秋的哈尔滨工业大学校园，迎来了来自世界各地的2026级新生。

今天，哈工大本部举行了2026年开学典礼。校长韩杰才出席典礼并寄语新生，他希望同学们善用人工智能和互联网工具拓宽视野，在多元思潮中保持清醒与独立思考，努力成为内心有定力、心中有温度、眼里有家国的求真青年。
