ing in 1994 under which 10 national councils were established in various parts of the world. The Institute operates as a co-ordinating body and custodian of the Royal Charter. All National Councils are effectively 'chartered' through their membership of CILT and are represented on its governing Council. CILT continues to hold the Royal Charter under the authority of the (UK) Privy Council. Subject to certain qualifications individual members of any National Council hold chartered status under the authority of this Royal Charter.

Our CILT (Penang) Secretary, Log. EuNice Chang Qi Ying was pleased to be invited to attend at the Penang Women Chamber of Commerce (PWCC) Business Scaling & Expansion Summit 2026, held at St. Giles Wembley Hotel, Penang, on 28 August 2026.

The summit was graced by YAB Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang, as the Guest of Honour, with an opening keynote address delivered by YB Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives. YB Goh Choon Aik and YB Lim Siew Khim were also present as special guests.

The summit successfully brought together more than 500 participants from various industries, providing a valuable platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and exploring opportunities for business growth and collaboration.
