The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport - Penang Section The world broadly recognises its professional qualification, obtained through its PQE.

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, founded in the UK in 1919 and granted a Royal Charter in 1926, stands as the professional body for logisticians. The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) International - formerly The Chartered Institute of Transport - was formed in 1919 and was granted its Royal Charter in 1926. Growth of its overseas sections led to a restructuring in 1994 under which 10 national councils were established in various parts of the world. The Institute operates as a co-ordinating body and custodian of the Royal Charter. All National Councils are effectively 'chartered' through their membership of CILT and are represented on its governing Council. CILT continues to hold the Royal Charter under the authority of the (UK) Privy Council. Subject to certain qualifications individual members of any National Council hold chartered status under the authority of this Royal Charter.

CILT in Malaysia & IIUM Explore Strategic Collaboration.

On 7 October 2026, CILT in Malaysia held a strategic engagement with the Logistics & Integrated Transport Analytics (LITRA) team from IIUM to discuss potential collaboration.

The meeting focused on developing a Memorandum of Understanding covering joint research and data analytics, professional academic pathways, student development, and industry-academia knowledge transfer.

The proposed collaboration aims to strengthen academic-industry linkages and advance Malaysia’s transport, logistics, and supply chain sector through research, professional development, and knowledge exchange.

Together with our CILT (Malaysia) Secretary General, Log. Ts. Dr. Hj. Mohd Nasir bin Haji Alias, FCILT, FLogM, CILT (Penang) was honoured to be invited by Han Chiang University College to attend its Annual Dato’ Boey Eam Seng Golden Achievement Award on 29 September 2026 (Tuesday).
