Still confused about which proverbs to use in your Bahasa Melayu essay? Don't just memorise the proverb, you also need to understand their meanings and the situations where they are suitable.
For Form 4 and Form 5 students, here are 4 useful proverbs you can use in SPM Bahasa Melayu and school examinations.
📖 1. Yang Dikejar Tak Dapat, Yang Dikendong Berciciran
Meaning:
Trying too hard to achieve something new until you neglect or lose what you already have.
Suitable for topics such as:
✅ Education and studies
✅ Time management
✅ Career
✅ Work-life balance
✅ Financial management
Example:

🥛 One Milk Bun Dough, But Make It FOUR Different Personalities! 😂
Who said a milk bun has to look boring?
Today in our baking class, our students took the same soft milk bun dough and gave it four completely different looks:
🥖 3-Braided – simple, neat and classic
🥖 4-Braided – okay, now we're getting fancy 👀
🌹 Rose Shape – because apparently our bun wanted to be romantic
⭕ Circle Braided – simple… but definitely not boring
And yes, we had students carefully braiding dough like they're solving a puzzle. 😂
