工程与资讯科技学院（FEIT）近期在宽柔中学古来分校举办了一场人工智能（AI）教学应用培训。

本次培训旨在协助教师掌握AI工具，并有效融入日常教学与行政工作。培训内容涵盖：

人工智能提示词（Prompt Engineering）技巧

运用AI进行提案撰写

云计算基础概念介绍

本地大语言模型（LLM）、服务器部署与云端服务成本比较

在培训过程中，教师们积极参与，并完成了多项实践任务，培训成果包括：

✅ 设计符合课程目标的教学活动与评估方式

✅ 完成AI辅助教学提案初稿

✅ 掌握不同AI工具在教学场景中的应用方法

The Faculty of Engineering & Information Technology (FEIT) conducted an AI Teaching & Learning Training Session at Foon Yew High School (Kulai) on 13 May 2026.

The training aimed to equip educators with practical skills to effectively integrate AI into teaching and administrative tasks. The session covered:

Prompt engineering techniques for effective AI usage

Development of AI-assisted lesson plans

Proposal writing with AI tools

Introduction to cloud computing concepts

Comparative insights on local LLM deployment, server infrastructure, and cloud-based services

During the session, participants actively engaged in hands-on activities and successfully completed several practical tasks. Key training outcomes include:

✅ Generating structured lesson plans using AI

✅ Designing teaching activities and assessment methods aligned with learning objectives

✅ Developing draft proposals with AI assistance

✅ Applying suitable AI tools across different teaching scenarios

It is commendable that Foon Yew High School (Kulai) has fully implemented Google Workspace for Education among its staff, providing a strong digital foundation for AI adoption. The participants demonstrated the ability to translate knowledge into practice within a short time, reflecting strong professional commitment and readiness for educational innovation.

大华银行（UOB）马来西亚分行携手 Invest Johor 及柔佛州政府，于2026年4月20日在新山 Sheraton 酒店隆重举办 “JS-SEZ 战略论坛 2026”。本届论坛以 “从雄心到影响：开启下一篇章” 为主题，汇聚政商领袖与产业精英，共同探讨柔佛—新加坡经济特区（JS-SEZ）的发展蓝图与实施路径。柔佛州务大臣拿督翁哈菲兹亲临现场主持开幕仪式。该论坛标志着政、银、产、学各方协同推进 JS-SEZ 迈入实质性发展阶段，通过资金引流、平台搭建与人才投资，将柔佛—新加坡经济特区的发展“雄心”转化为可衡量的实际“影响”。

United Overseas Bank (UOB) Malaysia, in partnership with Invest Johor and the Johor State Government, will host the "JS-SEZ Strategic Forum 2026" on April 20, 2026, at the Sheraton Hotel in Johor Bahru. The forum, themed "From Ambition to Impact: Opening the Next Chapter," will bring together political and business leaders and industry elites to discuss the development blueprint and implementation path of the Johor-Singapore Economic Zone (JS-SEZ). Johor Chief Minister Datuk Onn Hafiz will officiate at the opening ceremony. This forum marks a substantial step forward in the collaborative efforts of government, banks, and academia to promote the JS-SEZ (Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone) through capital inflows, platform building, and talent investment, the "ambition" of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone will be transformed into quantifiable "impact."

The forum also witnessed several milestones in industry-academia collaboration. Southern University College's Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chenbro (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (a subsidiary of Taiwan-based Chenbro Micom Co., Ltd), marking a new milestone in their collaboration in industry-academia partnerships, talent development, academic activity, and innovation. This is the faculty's second industry-academia agreement in 2026, following partnerships with OneSystems Technologies Pte Ltd, demonstrating its commitment to expanding its international network and injecting new momentum into regional talent development and innovation.

Mr. Mok Chek Hao, Chairman of the Board of Governor of Southern University College, Prof. ChM. Dr. Leong Loong Kong, Acting President cm Academic Vice President, Senior Lecturer Mr. Chan Bun Seng, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, and Assistant Professor Dr. Irene Kong Cheh Lin attended the forum, showcasing the positive role of higher education institutions in regional talent development and innovation.

🚀 Building with TRAE @ Southern University College
南方大学学院工程与资讯科技学院（Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, FEIT）已于 2026年4月18日 成功举办 “TRAE Friends：Zero to One AI 编码体验营 @ SUC”。
本次全天实践式工作坊向参与者介绍了 基于 TRAE IDE 的 AI 原生开发流程，内容涵盖现场演示、分阶段项目构建，以及实时技术指导。参与者亲身体验了如何在一天内将构想从提示语（prompt）转化为可运行的功能原型。
该活动体现了 FEIT 持续推动 与产业接轨的实践式学习，并进一步加强与 TRAE（字节跳动旗下） 的 产学合作关系。
谨此感谢所有讲者、筹委会成员、学生志愿者，以及来自南方大学学院与社会公众的参与者，共同促成此次活动的圆满成功。

🚀 Building with TRAE @ Southern University College
The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT), Southern University College, successfully hosted TRAE Friends: Zero to One AI Coding Experience @ SUC on 18 April 2026.
This full day hands on workshop introduced participants to AI native development workflows using the TRAE IDE, featuring live demonstrations, guided build sessions, and real time technical mentoring. Participants experienced how ideas can be transformed from prompts into functional prototypes within a single day.
The programme reflects FEIT’s continued commitment to industry aligned, experiential learning and strengthening academia–industry collaboration, in partnership with TRAE (a subsidiary of ByteDance).
We would like to thank all speakers, organisers, volunteers, SUC lecturers, students, and members of the public for making this event a success.

2026年4月11日，计算机科学系隆重宣布《小小柔佛探索家》（Little Johor Explorer）在 Piknik Membaca 阅读野餐活动中成功发布。该活动由柔佛州公共图书馆机构（Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Johor）、**印度尼西亚艺术管理证书机构（Sijil Art Management Indonesia）以及南方大学学院（人文与社会科学学院 FHSS 及工程与资讯科技学院 FEIT）联合主办。
工程与资讯科技学院（FEIT）团队在活动中发挥了关键作用，不仅向公众展示了应用程序的特色功能，还通过互动环节积极与参与者交流。特别感谢 Ts. Shaffika 与 Ts. Khairunnisha 在系统开发与整体协调方面的卓越领导，同时也衷心感谢学生 陈友福Tan You Fu 在活动期间提供了强有力的技术支持。

Successful Launch of Little Johor Explorer!
On 11 April 2026, the Department of Computer Science proudly announces the successful launch of Little Johor Explorer during the Piknik Membaca event, co-organised by Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Johor, Sijil Art Management Indonesia, and Southern University College (FHSS & FEIT).
Our FEIT team played a key role in showcasing the app and engaging participants through interactive sessions. Special appreciation to Ts. Shaffika and Ts. Khairunnisha for leading the system development and coordination, and to our student Tan You Fu for his strong technical support during the event
We are proud that Little Johor Explorer received encouraging feedback from the public and was featured in national media such as China Press and Sin Chew Daily. This recognition reflects the value and impact of our innovation beyond the academic environment.

此次合作将涵盖学生工业实习、毕业专题与顶点项目、联合科研与创新计划、产业相关学术活动，以及讲座、研讨会和工作坊等专业交流平台，旨在让学生更早接触真实产业环境，提升实践能力、专业素养与就业竞争力。

南方大学学院理事长莫泽浩先生表示，大学与企业之间的策略性合作，有助于衔接理论与实践，培养更符合产业与社会需求的未来人才。代校长兼学术副校长梁龙光教授也指出，教育不应局限于课堂，而应通过紧密的产业联系，为学生创造更多实践学习机会。

The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, Southern University College, held a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with OneSystems Technologies Pte Ltd, Singapore, on 07 April 2026. This marks a new milestone in industry-academia collaboration, talent development, academic exchange, and innovation.

The collaboration will cover student industrial training, final-year and capstone projects, joint research and innovation initiatives, industry-related academic activities, as well as professional exchange platforms such as talks, seminars, and workshops. These initiatives aim to provide students with earlier exposure to real industry environments while enhancing their practical skills, professional competencies, and career readiness.

Mr. Mok Chek Hou, Chairman of the BoG of Southern University College, stated that strategic collaboration between universities and industry helps bridge theory and practice, while nurturing future talents who are better aligned with industry and societal needs. Prof. ChM. Dr. Leong Loong Kong, Acting President cm Academic Vice President, also highlighted that education should not be confined to the classroom, but should create more practical learning opportunities for students through close industry engagement.

Ms. Eunice Hong, Chief Executive Officer of OneSystems Technologies Pte Ltd, shared that talent remains at the heart of the information technology and technology sectors.
