Humans of UoSM | Meet Dr Sajeda Pervin
Originally from Bangladesh, Dr Sajeda grew up in a culture rich in diversity, shaping her curiosity about how people and communities evolve.
That curiosity led her into academia, where her passion for teaching gradually grew alongside her interest in research. Today, she teaches in the Business Management programme at UoSM.
For her, teaching goes beyond delivering content. "I hope students leave with confidence in their own thinking, and the curiosity to question ideas and explore beyond the classroom," she shared.
After spending years in Malaysia, it has become home. What stands out most to her is the warmth of the people and how naturally different cultures come together, creating a unique and vibrant environment.
This diversity also shapes her classroom. Working with students from different backgrounds brings new perspectives, encouraging more open discussions and a deeper way of learning.
Outside of teaching, she values quiet moments to read, reflect, and maintain balance in her daily life.
"I'm still learning every day too, and I always welcome conversations, whether academic or just about shared interests."
For Dr Sajeda, the most rewarding part of being at UoSM is seeing students grow in confidence and find their own path.
This is Humans of UoSM, celebrating individuals who inspire growth through their journeys. ๐
