A Day of Innovation, Collaboration and Engineering Excellence!

The University of Southampton Malaysia (UoSM) was pleased to host IME Innovation Day 2027, a collaborative event between our School of Engineering and IME Technology Sdn. Bhd.

Held under the theme SOLIDWORKS SUPERCHARGED, the event brought together industry leaders, innovators and engineering professionals to explore the latest developments in AI, simulation, design automation and smart manufacturing.

From expert insights and technology demonstrations to meaningful industry connections, the event highlighted the exciting possibilities that emerge when engineering expertise meets innovation.

A big thank you to IME Technology Sdn. Bhd., all speakers and participants for making this event a meaningful platform for knowledge exchange and industry collaboration.

Innovation Meets Engineering at UoSM!

The School of Engineering at the University of Southampton Malaysia (UoSM) is collaborating with IME Technology Sdn. Bhd. to bring IME Innovation Day 2027 to campus!

Presented as SWID27 x IME under this year’s theme, SOLIDWORKS SUPERCHARGED, the event brings together industry leaders, innovators and engineering professionals to explore the latest developments in AI, simulation, design automation and smart manufacturing.

Marking the 20th edition of IME Innovation Day, this collaboration highlights the value of bringing industry and academia together to exchange ideas and explore new possibilities in engineering and manufacturing.

🎓 Professor Dr Terence Continues as Visiting Fellow at Cambridge Judge

We are pleased to share that Professor Dr Terence will continue as a Visiting Fellow at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.

His fellowship focuses on emerging markets, business sustainability and biodiversity, supporting continued research, knowledge exchange and opportunities for academic collaboration.

Reflecting on the continued fellowship, he shared:

"I am honoured to continue my association with Cambridge Judge Business School. I look forward to bringing these collaborations closer to the University of Southampton Malaysia, creating opportunities for our students and colleagues to engage with this work and strengthening UoSM's research footprint in sustainability and emerging markets."

We’re delighted to welcome Professor Dr Teck Ming (Terence) Tan, our new Professor of Digital Marketing at Southampton Malaysia Business School!

With extensive experience across Malaysia and Finland, Professor Terence brings expertise in AI in marketing, marketing analytics and decentralised technologies, with his research exploring trust in the digital economy. His work has been published in leading international journals, while his contributions to teaching have also been recognised through multiple awards.

We’re excited to have Professor Terence as part of the UoSM community and look forward to the knowledge, expertise and perspectives he will share with our students and colleagues.
