CAFEL is excited to kick off MC Workshop: From Content to Completion, held on 19-20 September 2026 at Royal Park Hotel, UNITEN, Bangi.

The two-day hands-on workshop brings together our Micro-Credential (MC) Course Developers to complete the final stages of their course development and prepare their courses for deployment on the OpenLearning platform.

CCEd Strengthens Substitute Blended Learning Practices Ahead of New Academic Session

PUTRAJAYA, 13 August 2026 โ€“ The College of Continuing Education- CCEd Uniten organised a Substitute Blended Learning (SBL) Workshop to strengthen effective and quality-driven blended learning practices ahead of Semester 1/Trimester 1, Academic Session 2026/2027.

The programme began with welcoming remarks by Dr Husni Mohd Radzi, Deputy Dean of CCEd followed by Assoc. Prof. Dr Rosmiza Mokhtar's opening address.

Held from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m., the workshop was conducted in hybrid mode at the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Room, Level 2, CCEd, TA Building. The hybrid arrangement also enabled academics from UNITENโ€™s Muadzam Shah Campus to participate remotely.

The workshop featured Dr Jehana Ermy Jamaluddin, Director of the Centre for Academic Advancement and Flexible Learning (CAFEL), as the main speaker. The session was facilitated by Mr Adzly Anuar, Head of the Programme Advancement and Curriculum Enhancement (PACE) Unit, CAFEL.

The workshop provided participants with a refresher on the principles, requirements and practical implementation of SBL. It also aimed to ensure that teaching and learning practices remain aligned with the national requirements.

Key discussions centred on issues encountered in implementing SBL, including the appropriate use of synchronous and asynchronous learning, the scheduling of SBL topics at the beginning, middle or end of the semester, or throughout the semester, and the selection of suitable online or conventional learning activities and assessments.

Participants were also guided on matters related to OBE and the effective design and delivery of teaching and learning activities within an SBL environment.

Through the workshop, CCEd reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening academic quality and supporting its academics in delivering purposeful, engaging and well-structured blended learning experiences for students across both campuses.

On 24 August 2026, the Centre for Academic Advancement and Flexible Learning (CAFEL), Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), welcomed a delegation from the Centre for Lifelong Learning and Educational Content Development (LEAD), Multimedia University (MMU), for an afternoon benchmarking visit.

The delegates were warmly welcomed by the Director of CAFEL, Dr. Jehana Ermy Jamaluddin, together with the CAFEL team.

The MMU delegation comprised:

The visit provided a valuable platform for both institutions to exchange knowledge and experiences in implementing and managing micro-credentials and ppen and distance learning (ODL) programme.

Discussions covered standard workflow and operating procedures, governance and administrative frameworks, curriculum and content development, quality assurance practices, and the digital platforms and technologies supporting flexible learning.

CAFEL sincerely appreciates the MMU delegation for the engaging discussions and meaningful exchange of ideas. We look forward to strengthening our institutional ties and exploring future collaborations to advance accessible, flexible and quality higher education.

CAFEL at National Engineering Convention 2026 Day 1!

We are excited to be part of the National Engineering Convention 2026, held at Royale Chulan Hotel.

Today, the Centre for Academic Advancement and Flexible Learning (CAFEL), UNITEN had the opportunity to engage with participants and share more about Micro-Credentials (MC) flexible, industry-relevant learning opportunities designed to support continuous professional development and lifelong learning.

We also introduced some of the exciting learning opportunities available through UNITEN, including Professional training and industry-focused development programmes by UNITEN Ventures and Postgraduate & Undergraduate Programmes at UNITEN.

It was a great opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and showcase how UNITEN supports learning beyond the traditional classroom.
