Important announcement! Utarian please take note!
With the implementation of the Full Movement Control Order (FMCO) till the end of June 2021, the industrial training for students from Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM) has been affected. The Student Representative Council UTAR Sungai Long Campus understands the concerns of these students, and have since brought forth the issue to the faculty’s management. The following are some solutions proposed by the faculty management:
1. The faculty will allow students who have yet to receive confirmed commencing dates to continue their classes until further notice.
2. Students who need to attend the classes temporarily are required to fill the add/drop form for record purposes.
3. Students may choose to continue their study or proceed with industrial training before the 2nd of July 2021, in which the faculty has extended the add/drop period for students undergoing industrial training until the said date.
4. Students who struggle to make a decision and are worried about the current situation are encouraged to continue their studies for the June 2021 trimester instead of going for industrial training.
5. If needed, the faculty will have special arrangements on the duration for industrial training accordingly.
6. Students who wish to continue with industrial training, they will be given a particular assignment/project related to the industry while waiting for their company to revert on the dates. This is a partial fulfillment assignment for the Industrial training as per MQA updates.
7A. Should the FMCO be extended until further notice, students who will attend the temporary classes are allowed to convert them into permanent program structure classes. Consideration will be given to undergo their industrial training in the last trimester. (T&C applied)
7B. The particular assignment/industrial-related project can be used to replace the industrial training. The faculty shall review the current duration and visiting duration needed for all programmes to meet the changing requirement.
Last but not least, please contact us if you have any issues or views you would like to raise regarding industrial training. In the meantime, please adhere to the SOPs for MCO as outlined by the Ministry of Health, and be safe. Thank you. 🙆🏻♀️
