由本校计算机与创新技术学院(简称“计算机学院”)与雪兰莪暨吉隆坡福建会馆(简称“雪隆福建会馆”) 联合主办的第三十八届马来西亚华罗庚杯中学数学竞赛,于2026年6月14日(星期日)在吉隆坡中华独立中学举行。颁奖典礼则于8月16日(星期日)上午9时,在雪兰莪暨吉隆坡福建会馆举行,为本届赛事画下圆满句点。
颁奖典礼当天,雪隆福建会馆名誉会长暨署理会长林忠强博士、副会长李萍、总务戴炳基、文教主任暨工委会主席杨柳珠、马来西亚厦门大学数学系助理教授林敏博士,以及本校校长莫顺宗教授、计算机学院院长洪阳宜助理教授、信息技术系主任陈钰媚等出席,共同见证得奖学生的荣耀时刻。
🎤莫顺宗:乡团发展需年轻人接棒
华罗庚杯中学数学竞赛已举办38届,参与学校范围逐步扩大,体现赛事获得社会的支持与认同。他表示,华人会馆拥有悠久的历史基础与传统,但也需与时代接轨,开拓新的发展方向;华罗庚杯正是雪隆福建会馆持续发展、回应时代需求的体现。
他勉励年轻一代珍惜并延续乡团的传统与基础,积极加入并为组织注入新的活力,同时在追求个人成长与发展的过程中关注社会发展,未来成为文化传承与社会发展的重要力量。
🎤杨柳珠:持续提供平台培养数学人才
雪隆福建会馆将继续坚持举办华罗庚杯,并逐步扩大赛事至其他州属,为更多热爱数学的学生提供专长的平台。她认为,数学竞赛不仅让学生发挥所长,也能激发学生对数学的兴趣与钻研精神,为国家培养更多数学人才。
她也勉励参赛学生,将比赛中的专注、勇气与坚持带到今后的学习与人生,在面对复杂问题时保持冷静,面对未知勇敢前行,即使遭遇暂时的失败,也要相信自己、继续努力。
🎤林忠强:“生日概率”带领学生探索数学
讲座通过生日概率的计算与分析,讲解其中的数学原理,并安排学生参与互动,让学生在实际体验中认识概率的趣味与奥妙。此外,他也分享数学界最高荣誉之一的菲尔兹奖及数学家的故事,鼓励学生保持对数学的兴趣,勇于钻研数学难题,同时尝试从不同角度思考问题,在探索与思考中进一步感受数学的魅力。
讲座结束后,大会随即举行颁奖仪式,为得奖者颁发奖状,以表扬他们的优异表现。

Jointly organized by the Faculty of Computing and Innovative Technology (FCIT) of New Era University College and the Selangor & Kuala Lumpur Hokkien Association, the 38th Malaysia Hua Luo Geng Cup Secondary School Mathematics Competition for Malaysian Secondary Schools , was successfully held on Sunday, 14 June 2026, at Chong Hwa Independent High School, Kuala Lumpur. The award ceremony was subsequently held on Sunday, 16 August 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Selangor & Kuala Lumpur Hokkien Association, bringing the competition to a successful conclusion.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Selangor & Kuala Lumpur Hokkien Association, including Dr. Lim Chong Keang, Honorary President and Deputy President; Madam Lee Siew Ching, Vice President; Mr. Thay Peng Kee, Secretary-General; and Madam Nyu Liew Chu, Head of the Cultural & Education Committee and Organising Committee Chairperson; Asst. Prof. Dr. Lim Min from Xiamen University Malaysia; and representatives from New Era University College, including Prof. Dr. Mok Soon Chong, Vice-Chancellor; Asst. Prof. Dr. Ang Yang Yi, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Innovative Technology; and Ms. Tan Yee May, Head of the Department of Information Technology.
🎤Mok Soon Chong: Young Generation Vital to the Continued Development of Clan Associations
The Hua Luo Geng Cup Mathematics Competition for Malaysian Secondary Schools has been held for 38 years, with participation gradually expanding to more schools, reflecting growing support and recognition from the community. He said the Chinese organisations, despite their long history and strong foundation, must continue to keep pace with the times and explore new directions. The Hua Luo Geng Cup is one example of the Selangor and KL Hokkien Association’s efforts to grow and respond to changing needs.
He encouraged the younger generation to cherish and carry forward the traditions and foundations of clan associations, actively contribute to these organisations and bring new energy and vitality to them. He also encouraged the participating students to continue striving for excellence, remain attentive to social development alongside their own personal growth, and aspire to become an important force in cultural heritage preservation and the advancement of society in the future.
🎤Nyu Liew Chu: Continuing to Provide Platforms for Nurturing Mathematics Talent
The Selangor & Kuala Lumpur Hokkien Association will continue to organise the Hua Luo Geng Cup and gradually expand the competition to other states, providing more students with a passion for mathematics with a platform to showcase their abilities. The competition not only allows students to demonstrate their mathematical abilities, but also encourages their interest in and pursuit of mathematics, while helping to nurture future mathematics talent for the country.
She also encouraged participating students to carry the focus, courage and perseverance they demonstrated in the competition into their future studies and lives. She urged them to remain calm when faced with complex problems, move forward courageously when navigating unfamiliar paths, and continue to believe in themselves even in the face of temporary setbacks.
🎤Lim Chong Keang Leads Students in Exploring Mathematics Through “Birthday Probability”
The lecture explored the theme of “Birthday Probability” through calculations and analysis of birthday probabilities, explaining the mathematical principles involved and incorporating interactive activities that allowed students to experience the fun and fascinating aspects of probability firsthand. He also introduced the Fields Medal, one of the highest honours in mathematics, and shared stories of mathematicians, encouraging students to maintain their interest in mathematics, take on challenging mathematics problems and approach them from different perspectives, so that they could gain a deeper appreciation of mathematics through exploration and reflection.
Following the lecture, the organisers held an award presentation ceremony to present certificates to the winners in recognition of their outstanding performance, bringing the event to a successful conclusion.
