UTAR Division of Programme Promotion (DPP) has successfully conducted a meaningful sharing on adolescent development at SMJK Perempuan Perak 霹雳女子国民型华文中学, Ipoh. The sharing was held on 25 April 2026, attracting enthusiastic participation from teachers, admin staff and parents from the school. The programme aimed to enhance awareness and provide practical guidance on understanding and managing adolescent-related challenges.

The session began with a talk by Dr. Nurul Iman Binti Abdul Jalil on the topic of “Understanding Adolescents”. Dr. Nurul shared valuable insights into adolescent development, emotional changes, behavioural patterns, and the importance of empathy and effective communication in supporting teenagers through this crucial stage of life. Her engaging presentation encouraged participants to better appreciate the complexities of adolescence.

Continues by the second session, which is delivered by Ms. Deeva Darshini a/p Mogan with the topic of “From Understanding to Action: Practical Strategies for Handling Adolescent Problems”. She provided participants with useful and practical approaches to addressing common adolescent issues, equipping them with strategies to respond positively and effectively in real-life situations.
To conclude the programme, an interactive quiz session was conducted, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. Participants actively engaged in the quiz and showed great enthusiasm throughout the activity. The programme ended on a high note, leaving participants with valuable knowledge and enjoyable learning experiences.

UTAR Division of Programme Promotion (DPP) had successfully organised an inspiring talk entitled “How Do We Prepare Ourselves for the AI Era?” on 25 April 2026, at the auditorium of SMJK Perempuan Perak 霹雳女子国民型华文中学 , Ipoh. The talk was conducted by Ir. Prof. Dato’ Dr.Ewe Hong Tat, President/CEO of UTAR. The session was attended by around 100 enthusiastic participants, including teachers, administrative staff, and parents from the school.

During the talk, Ir. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ewe Hong Tat shared insights of his education philosophy in the new era. At the beginning, he elaborated the technological development throughout human history and how society adapt to rapid changes brought by artificial intelligence. He emphasized the importance of education in training the new generations to cultivate a growth mindset rather than a fixed mindset.

In addition, he highlighted the original purpose of education, which is to nurture lifelong learning and loving-kindness, while stressing the value of curiosity, creativity, and self-learning in an AI-driven world. He also shared a meaningful
reflection on life — to learn, to live, to love, and to leave a legacy. Participants were highly engaged throughout the session, making the programme both meaningful and well received.

UTAR Sungai Long Campus was delighted to host Foon Yew High School Seri Alam on 25 March 2026, welcoming around 80 students and 8 teachers for an engaging campus experience.

The visit started off with an introduction to UTAR’s campuses and recent achievements. It was then followed by a short briefing covering academic programmes, graduate employability, available scholarships and financial aid, study tour opportunities, as well as notable alumni by Ms. Eunice Chong (DPP).

Students explored the campus and participated in workshops across four exciting fields:
🎮 Game Design: Designing Meaningful Digital Games: Creativity, Sustainability, and Real-World Impact by Dr. Cheng Kin Meng (FCI)
🎨 Early Childhood Education – Dive into Art: An Underwater Adventure by Dr. Yip Chan Ling (FEd)
🤖 Robotics – The Rise of Robotics and How to Prepare for the Future by Dr. Low Jen Hahn, Ts. Dr. Goh Choon Hian, Dr. Shalini a/p Darmaraju (LKCFES)
🌿 Chinese Medicine – Chinese Medicine and Health Preservation Exercises by Dr. Yap Yau Pin (MK FMHS)

Conducted in two 1.5 hour sessions, the workshops offered students a valuable glimpse into university learning and future pathways with comprehensive talks leading to some hands-on activities.

We sincerely appreciate the valuable feedback received and would like to extend our gratitude to Foon Yew High School Seri Alam for giving us an opportunity to host them. We hope the experience has sparked students' interest and managed to offer a glimpse into the exciting learning opportunities at UTAR!✨
