During the benchmarking session, Dr. Krishnan Nair Balakrishnan presented the proposed new programme, including its course structure, curriculum framework, and key components. The presentation was followed by an engaging discussion and constructive exchange of views between IPB and UBD academics. The UBD team provided valuable feedback, suggestions, and recommendations aimed at strengthening the curriculum, enhancing academic quality, and ensuring that the proposed programme meets appropriate international standards and the evolving needs of the biotechnology sector.

The visit also provided an important platform for both institutions to explore opportunities for student and academic mobility. Discussions included the possibility of student exchanges between UMS and UBD, particularly for industrial placements, research attachments, and other academic training opportunities. Both parties also explored potential areas for research collaboration, including joint research activities, knowledge exchange, and opportunities to strengthen collaboration between researchers from the two universities.

The visit also strengthened the academic relationship between Universiti Malaysia Sabah and Universiti Brunei Darussalam, while opening avenues for future collaboration in postgraduate education, student mobility, research, and academic development.
