▪️ كتابة عنوان البحث في أعلى الملخص، يليه اسم الباحث/الباحثين.

RKFQ-POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS GATHERING 2026

The Department of Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh, through its Postgraduate Student Committee, successfully organized the Postgraduate Students Gathering on Friday, 5 June 2026, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The programme commenced with opening remarks by HoD, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sayyed Muhsin.

The gathering then featured a special talk by Dr. M.J.M. Arafath Careem entitled “Methods of Effectiveness in Academic Research Writing: Practical Methods and Techniques”, provided valuable insights into effective academic writing.

The briefing begin with Prof. Bouhedda Ghalia, Coordinator and Chairperson of the Postgraduate Committee, introducing the faculty members.

Then followed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Fuad Sawari conducted an academic briefing on Study Plans and Thesis/Dissertation Procedures, offering important guidance to students regarding their academic progress and research requirements.

The final session was delivered by Dr. Zulqernain Haider, who shared information on journals and publications. The programme concluded with a group photography session.

Nadwat Jumuah 601: “The Muslim Succession Law in Sri Lanka: A Contemporary Study in the Light of Fiqh al-Aqalliyyāt”

The Department of Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh, AHAS KIRKHS, IIUM, in collaboration with the Sayed Ismail Shihabudeen Council for Visionary Leadership (SISCO), organized an academic programme titled “The Muslim Intestate Succession Law in Sri Lanka: A Contemporary Study in the Light of Fiqh al-Aqalliyyāt” on 5 June 2026 (Friday) at the SISCO Meeting Room, IIUM Gombak.

The session was delivered by Dr. Arafath Careem, who presented an insightful analysis of Muslim intestate succession law in Sri Lanka and examined its contemporary challenges through the framework of Fiqh al-Aqalliyyāt (jurisprudence of Muslim minorities).

The speaker highlighted the legal and social dimensions of inheritance practices among Muslim minority communities and discussed the relevance of Islamic legal principles in addressing current realities.
