📚 Empowering Researchers. Elevating Publications. Inspiring Excellence.

The Centre for Postgraduate Studies and Research (CPSR), Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) successfully organised the CPSR Research Culture Workshop Series 2026: Publishing in Top-Tier Journals on 4 August 2026.

The workshop featured Senior Professor Dr. Garry Tan Wei Han, who shared practical strategies on identifying suitable journals, understanding publication quality indicators, and preparing manuscripts that meet the standards of top-tier journals. Participants also gained valuable insights from Mr. William Loh Wui Lun of Emerald Publishing on publication ethics, research integrity, and the responsible use of AI in scholarly publishing.

The Centre for Postgraduate Studies and Research (CPSR), TAR UMT successfully conducted the workshop "Strengthening Academic Writing for Effective Proposal Defence" on 24 July 2026, bringing together Master's and PhD students for an insightful and engaging learning session.

The workshop featured two distinguished speakers, Prof. Dr. Ler Hui Yin and Prof. Dr. Ooi Boon Keat, who shared valuable insights and practical guidance to help participants strengthen their academic writing and research proposal development.

TAR UMT and Shanghai Jinli Law Firm Forge Strategic Partnership to Advance China–Malaysia Industry and Academic Collaboration
Kuala Lumpur, 19 June 2026 – Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) and Shanghai Jinli Law Firm formalised a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in education, research, industry engagement, talent development, and international exchange between Malaysia and China.

Following the signing ceremony, the delegation toured several facilities, including the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (FOCS), the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FOET), the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Big Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, the I2Hub WorldSkills Training Centre, and various laboratories. This visit opened opportunities to explore collaborations in artificial intelligence, digital technologies, advanced manufacturing, engineering education, and innovation.

Through this partnership, TAR UMT and Shanghai Jinli Law Firm aim to foster sustainable academic-industry collaboration, promote innovation and talent development, and strengthen China–Malaysia cooperation in higher education, research, and technology transfer.
