Small actions in our daily digital habits can contribute to BIG global changes:

🌱 Reduce Carbon Emissions
Smarter energy use and reducing idle devices help lower electricity demand and carbon emissions.

♻️ Reduce E-Waste
Extending the lifespan of computers and devices helps reduce electronic waste and the release of hazardous materials.

⛏️ Reduce Raw Material Extraction
Using devices longer and recycling responsibly can reduce the demand for new minerals and raw materials.

☁️ Reduce the Hidden Data Footprint
Deleting unnecessary files, emails and duplicate data can help reduce the energy needed to store and process digital information.

ITD Commences Combined ISO QMS & ABMS Audit: Day 2

The Information Technology Division (ITD) has successfully transitioned into the second day of its comprehensive combined internal audit, shifting focus from initial site visits to evaluating specific operational findings.

Building upon Day 1's extensive review of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and physical facility inspections, the esteemed audit panel met with divisional representatives to discuss early observations.

This collaborative review pinpointed critical areas within both the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO 37001:2015 Anti-Bribery Management Systems (ABMS) frameworks that require attention.

During the concluding sessions of Day 2, the auditors provided constructive feedback and key recommendations aimed at optimizing ITD's internal compliance and governance mechanisms. The panel emphasized practical strategies to improve operational workflows, update documentation logs, and refine risk mitigation tactics to fully align with university policies.

These insights offer ITD a valuable roadmap to address existing gaps, implement corrective actions, and fortify its operational excellence ahead of the upcoming Management Review and formal SIRIM QAS surveillance audit.

🚨 CYBERSECURITY ALERT: PHISHING EMAIL SCAM🚨

⚠️ Please be alert! A phishing email containing a fraudulent legal/police notice is currently circulating.

Scammers are impersonating law enforcement agencies and using fake official logos, stamps, signatures, and high-ranking officials’ names to make the email appear genuine. The messages may falsely claim that you are under investigation for serious online offences and threaten immediate arrest, legal action, or public exposure if you do not respond within 48–72 hours.

πŸ“§ Example of a suspicious sender:
`[email protected]`
Even if the email claims to be from an official agency, always check the actual sender address carefully. Scammers often use free email services such as Gmail to impersonate legitimate organisations.

πŸ”΄ WATCH OUT FOR THESE RED FLAGS:
β€’ 🚨 Intimidation, threats, and extreme urgency
β€’ πŸ“Ž Suspicious PDF attachments or documents
β€’ ✍️ Poor grammar, unusual formatting, or inconsistent official terminology
β€’ πŸ“§ Requests to reply to personal or unverified email addresses
β€’ 🀫 Instructions to keep the matter secret or avoid contacting others

πŸ›‘οΈ WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

❌ DO NOT open attachments or click links
❌ DO NOT reply or provide personal information
❌ DO NOT make any payments or follow suspicious instructions
πŸ“’ REPORT the email immediately to the ICT Services Help Desk
πŸ“ž 03-6421 6666
πŸ“§ [email protected]
πŸ—‘οΈ After reporting, delete the suspicious email from your inbox and trash.

πŸ’‘ Remember: Do not be intimidated by threats or urgent deadlines. Always verify the sender and report suspicious emails through the proper channels.

πŸ” Stay vigilant. Think before you click. Protect your account and personal information.

QMS & ABMS Internal Audit 2026 is Ongoing

QMS & ABMS Internal Audit is currently being conducted from 26th to 27th August 2026.

ITD Commences Combined ISO QMS & ABMS Audit: Day 1

The Information Technology Division (ITD) officially commenced its comprehensive internal audit on 26th August 2026. This year's assessment simultaneously evaluates ITD's compliance across two critical frameworks: the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems (QMS) and the ISO 37001:2015 Anti-Bribery Management Systems (ABMS).

The exercise aims to reinforce ITD's operational excellence, transparency, and governance through specific division-wide objectives:

β€’ Quality Management Systems (QMS): Ensuring continued compliance and effective system maintenance, identifying areas for improvement, verifying past corrective actions, and preparing key findings for the upcoming Management Review and SIRIM QAS surveillance audit.

β€’ Anti-Bribery Management Systems (ABMS): Determining strict conformity to both university policies and ISO 37001 standards, assessing ITD’s capability to meet regulatory and contractual requirements, and evaluating risk mitigation effectiveness.

The audit is being conducted by an esteemed panel of university auditors, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Sarina Sulaiman (KOE). Joining her are Mdm. Nurul 'Ain Mohamed Noor (KOED) serving as the ABMS Auditor, and Sr. Mahani Alang (MSD) participating as a Trainee QMS Auditor.

The Day 1 itinerary features discussion on various SOPs and guidelines as well as site visits spanning the entirety of ITD facilities.
