Why Tourism and Hospitality
The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism is proud to welcome students who are interested to further their studies in the hospitality and tourism field. Currently, the faculty offers five programs, Diploma in Hotel and Catering, Diploma in Culinary Arts, a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Hospitality Management, MBA in Hospitality Management, and Master in Tourism Management.
Today, more than ever before, the hospitality and tourism industry is in real search for competent, committed, and well-motivated workforce to steer the industry. The focus is on offering quality product and services to the increasingly demanding and discerning customers. Our goals are to help you develop the managerial acumen and skills to leverage that passion toward a satisfying career as an effective and successful hospitality and tourism industry leader, and to maintain and build the value of your degree by continuing to foster the presence and respect of the program and its graduates in Malaysia and beyond.
We believe this is a great time to be in the hospitality and tourism industry, which is among the largest Global Industries, in terms of employment and sales. In Malaysia, travel and tourism is among the nation’s largest services export industries, and one of Malaysian’s largest employers. Food and drink sales of the restaurant industry in Malaysia employ a big number yearly. Add corporate, educational and healthcare foodservice and hospitality, and we believe the demand for skilled managers and executives in these sectors will only increase. For industry entrepreneurs, a sound hospitality management education can increase the odds of success significantly.
