The 7th Edition of the Golden Bear Award (GBA) 2026 has successfully concluded. Ts. Liu Cheng Hua, Head of Fine Art, Head of Administration and Senior Lecturer at MIA, was honoured to serve as one of the international judges and witness the talented award winners from different age groups, art categories and countries come together at the Grand Award Ceremony. 🏆🖼️🎨

Mural Project at Chung Hwa High School, Muar

In conjunction with The Poetry of Light: A Retrospective of Chong Hon Fatt Exhibition, MIA was delighted to collaborate with Harmoni Soka Art & Culture Gallery to bring an engaging and inspiring Acrylic Painting Workshop to the public! 🎨✨

Surrounded by a calm and welcoming atmosphere, participants explored the joy of acrylic painting through a fun, hands-on session guided step-by-step by our professional artist, Ms Foong Yeng Yeng. From the first brushstroke to the final touches, everyone had the opportunity to unleash their creativity and bring their very own acrylic masterpiece to life! 🖌️🌈

A wonderful afternoon filled with creativity, colours and artistic expression — thank you to everyone who joined us and made the workshop such a memorable one! 💛

🎸 Meet April Goh, a proud alumna of the MIA Music Department. A talented guitarist, composer, and arranger, April was actively involved in a wide range of musical projects during her time at MIA, from composing and arranging for major events to performing at renowned venues and contributing to award-winning ensembles. Her passion, versatility, and dedication to music have led her to continue her studies in the United Kingdom, where she is further developing her artistic and professional journey. We are delighted to share her reflections and experiences as part of our alumni testimonial series.
