Being the first University in Malaysia to be a CAREton Project Family member, “CAREton Project @ UCSI University,” now managed by students from the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FoAS), is branded as a personalized and unique approach to achieve the CAREton Project’s objectives. Besides helping the CAREton Project to collect as many used cartons as possible by the deadline, CAREton Project @ UCSI Un
iversity also gives help by supporting their awareness activities to consumers by providing collection venues for used beverage cartons and venues for CAREton Project media launch and roadshow. To initiate beverage carton recycling mode in the nearby community in Taman Connaught, cooperation has been made with food and beverage centers including cafes located at UCSI University, Jalan Menara Gading and at The Ikon, Taman Connaught. This will be a stepping stones in reaching our target of expanding to community level by the third stage of the CAREton Project@UCSI University. For short term, we participate in the effort of Tetra Pak in building homes for Orang Asli families using roofing tiles made from recycled cartons. For long term, we encourage the practice of cartons recycling as part of the lifestyle in the surrounding community and eventually reduce negative impact on environment.
