A couple of weeks ago, we gathered for our Induction & Commissioning as we began a new academic year at SPTC. Another year of theological learning, spiritual formation and training for ministry!

Now, as our first Intensive Teaching Week gets underway, we want you to join us in praying for our students!

A year of learning, growing, and plenty of surprises.

We asked our students:

“What has surprised you about college this year?”

What if the Holy Spirit is not drawing us away from what is human, but restoring us to what we were always created to be?

Mark reflects on miracles, healing, creation, and why life in the Spirit might be more “normal” than we think.

What if the work of the Spirit is not to make us less ourselves, but more fully who we were created to be?

A reflection on calling, transformation, right thinking, right love, and the strange grace of becoming. Also featuring Simon being lovingly roasted by Mark.

From our Pentecost special, The Spirit is for Normal People. Watch the full episode on YouTube.

Not all waiting is waiting in darkness.

Pentecost reminds us that the disciples waited with hope and expectation because of the resurrection of Jesus. And maybe that’s a reminder for us too, that in seasons of longing, uncertainty, abundance, or even comfort, the Spirit is still at work, leading us deeper into the fullness of Christ.

A short reflection from our Pentecost special, The Spirit is for Normal People. Watch the full episode on YouTube. Link in bio!

What does the Ascension of Jesus mean for us today? Dr Jon Chan explores the mystery of Christ’s reign that is “hidden but not absent.”

Though we do not see Him, Christ is present and at work among us still.

If you want to think more deeply about the mysteries of our faith, perhaps theology is part of that journey!

As we near the end of the academic year, we’re remembering some of the moments that made this year special.

Our retreat earlier this year gave us space to rest, reflect, worship, and grow together under the theme “Grace and Grit.”

Grateful for every conversation, every laugh, and every moment shared along the way!
