Throughout the session, participants gained valuable insights into how computer engineering knowledge is applied to solve real industrial challenges. The report highlighted just how fast the global AI market is growing, and the urgent need for Malaysia to accelerate the development of highly skilled engineering and semiconductor talent to keep pace. In line with national strategies for AI and semiconductors, Malaysia is targeting 60,000 highly skilled engineers and technicians by 2030, underscoring just how important stronger collaboration between universities, government agencies, and industry partners will be in preparing graduates for high-value roles.

During the forum, industry leaders shared valuable insights into semiconductor design, Edge AI, professional training, industry-relevant skills, internships, and career opportunities. The discussions reinforced the importance of giving students meaningful exposure to real-world technologies and closer engagement with industry.

The launch of UCSI University's Master in Engineering (Applied Artificial Intelligence) marks another important step in preparing graduates and working professionals to apply AI to real engineering challenges across semiconductors, electronics, advanced manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, biomedical engineering, and smart factories.
