At last! Hard work paid off! Baratham Cultural Club session 2016/2017 has won Best Club Award 'Anugerah Gambang Mustika' from “Majlis Anugerah Seni Majlis Kebudayaan Universiti-Universiti Malaysia (MAKUM)” which was held on 19 January 2018 in Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). This is a very honourable award to us. Thank you very much to the entire team (Highboard, Exco, Bureaus, performers and members of Baratham Cultural Club 2016/2017) who worked hard despite all the hardships, to achieve this award. Our sleepless nights, sweat, tears and hardwork paid off.
Thanks to Vice Chancellor Professor Dato' Dr. Nor Aieni binti Haji Mokhtar - UMT Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni) Prof. Madya Dr. Che Mohd Ruzaidi Ghazali for your continuous support and assistance. Not forgetting Mr Badruhisham Darus, Ketua Pegawai Kebudayaan dan Kesenian who represented us to collect this award. And thanks to Revati Ganasan (Secretary) and நவமுகுந்தன் நவா (Treasurer) who were willing to stand as a board and face all the circumstances throughout the session.
Besides, I would like to also thank the Exco members, although most of them were from first year, but they made it to this point, not forgetting the senior excos who sacrificed their time and effort, despite their busy schedules. Very much appreciated. Age doesn’t define experience and capability of a vision-striven individual.
Last but not least, I would like to thank Gowri Mogan Kumarappa who stood by our sides, willing to get through all the ups and downs and showed her continuous support in terms of sponsor, motivation and all parts that we needed most. Not belonging neither to the board nor the session, no more in the campus, you've been a good advisor to complete all the four programs and our Malaysian Book of Records. Not forgetting all other alumnis and seniors who took much effort to keep the club going, despite all the challenges we faced internally and externally, your support, motivation and never ending sentiments to Baratham, brought us to where we are today.
It wouldn't be complete if we don't thank the haters and keyboard warriors who also motivated us a lot to show you who we are. Whatever challenges we may have faced, after years, this is what going to make a difference!
