Faculty of Law and International Relations (FLAIR), University of Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) is officially commenced in early 2007, one year after the establishment of Universiti Darul Iman Malaysia (UDM), later known as Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). Study programmes offered in FLAIR have actually started since the institution’s status of an Islamic college known as Kolej Ugama Sult
an Zainal Abidin (KUSZA). The Diploma in Law Programme was first offered at School of General Studies of KUSZA in July 1991 session. The Programme was later recognised by the Department of Public Service Malaysia (JPA) in 1996. Today, the Programme has succeeded producing thirteen generations of graduates and counting. In 2006, FLAIR has made a bigger success when its proposal to offer the Bachelor of Laws (LLB Programme) has been approved by the Ministry of Education (formerly known as the Ministry of Higher Education), and the first enrollment of students was taken place in July the same year. For eight consecutive years and counting, FLAIR is looking forward to producing law graduates with quality and well-equipped to work in legal world. On 1 January 2007, KUSZA has officially become one of UniSZA’s campuses, where all study programmes offered previously including the Diploma in Law and LLB Programme are continuously taught. In March 2007, FLAIR was established and was given a responsibility to conduct the study programmes. With the exception of the two programmes, FLAIR is currently running a Bachelor’s Degree of International Relations with the first intake successfully enrolled in September 2014. FLAIR is also welcoming first degree holders to pursue a Master’s Degree in Laws as well as Masters in International Relations.
