Beloyar dengan Alumni FK 2026: Perjalanan Kejuruteraan Anda Bermula di Sini
On 15 October 2026, the Faculty of Engineering at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) successfully organised Beloyar dengan Alumni FK 2026: Perjalanan Kejuruteraan Anda Bermula di Sini at Dewan Pembelajaran CTF1, UNIMAS, from 11.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Organised in collaboration with the Alumni Section of the Centre for Student Development, the programme brought together approximately 450 Faculty of Engineering students, particularly first-year students, to provide early exposure to engineering career pathways and strengthen connections between students, alumni, and the faculty.
The programme commenced with an ice-breaking session, followed by a briefing by the Deputy Dean (Student Affairs and Alumni) on the facultyโs mentorโmentee initiative. The session highlighted the importance of mentorship in helping students adapt to university life, navigate the challenges of engineering studies, and receive guidance throughout their academic journey.
Following a lunch break, the afternoon session continued with the opening ceremony and Sembang Ilmu, an engaging alumni forum featuring three distinguished Faculty of Engineering alumni: Ts. Michael Sampar Enchang, M&E Manager at Unique Deco Sdn. Bhd.; Ms. Grace anak Brandah, Front End Engineer at Sarawak Energy Berhad; and Ts. Norhidayah binti Morsalin, Senior Lecturer at Kolej Komuniti Santubong.
Drawing on their professional experiences, the panellists shared valuable insights into engineering career pathways, industry expectations, professional development, and the challenges graduates may face when transitioning from university to the workplace. Their sharing offered students a better understanding of the realities of engineering careers and the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to succeed in the profession.
The forum also featured an interactive Mythbuster Session conducted via Mentimeter, during which common misconceptions about engineering studies and careers were explored and addressed by the alumni panellists. The interactive format encouraged active student participation and meaningful discussions, while providing practical advice on academic success, personal growth, and career preparation.
Overall, Beloyar dengan Alumni FK 2026 successfully provided a platform for knowledge exchange and experience-sharing between students and alumni. The programme broadened studentsโ awareness of engineering career opportunities and encouraged them to take a proactive approach to their academic, personal, and professional development from the early stages of their university journey.
The initiative also reinforced the relationship between the Faculty of Engineering, its students, alumni, and industry professionals, supporting the facultyโs commitment to nurturing competent, adaptable, and career-ready engineering graduates.
The Faculty of Engineering extends its sincere appreciation to the invited alumni, faculty representatives, organising committee, and all participants for their contributions and support in making Beloyar dengan Alumni FK 2026 a success.
