The Library has started its operation since 2004 at temporary building in Taman Sejati 3, Sitiawan. It has been placed at the Marine Machinery Workshop during that year because the Library building was still under construction. Effective from 15th December 2006, the UniKL MIMET Library officially shifted to the current building. Based on 474.4 sqft the library may accommodate more than 250 users a
t one time. The Library has two floors and equipped with small and big discussion rooms, meeting room, audio visual room, and prayers room. In order to offer a quality service, the Library is fitted with Internet access and integrated with the Integrated Library Management Utility (ILMU) so that all users can search the information and collection through database. Many printed books in library are related to marine field. Means, the book collections are in Ship Design, Ship Construction, Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding, Marine Engineering, Marine Electrical and Electronic programs. The library collections are printed books, industrial training report, and conference papers, teaching modules, periodicals and CD-ROM. The Library is encouraging all users to search books through online method. All online books and journals can be accessed by UniKL students and staff at all campuses. As a small library with five manpower, the library is aim to be the primer marine engineering library in order all users especially students, teaching staff and marine industry will use the library as one stop centre to fulfill their needs.
