INTI’s annual Industry Advisory Board (IAB) session for Computing and IT brought together academics from its Nilai, Subang, and Penang campuses, along with 24 industry partners and three INTI alumni, including Microsoft Malaysia, U Mobile Sdn. Bhd. and Alibaba Cloud.

Themed “Advancing Employability in the Age of AI,” the session opened with a keynote address by Mr Tan Lip Gee, Chief Technology Officer of Microsoft Malaysia.

By sharing perspectives on emerging trends, industry developments, and workforce expectations, the discussion offered valuable insights to support the continued development of INTI’s Computing and IT programmes. These conversations help ensure that the curriculum remains relevant to industry needs and that students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed as they prepare to enter an evolving workforce.

Building Confidence, One Brick at a Time

Dr Renee Chew led the Knowledge Transfer Programme, “Brick by Brick: Constructing Confidence & Fluency through LEGO® Serious Play®,” at Sathya Sai School, Lamnarai, Thailand, using hands-on LEGO® activities to help secondary school students practise English speaking, pronunciation, storytelling and communication.

The engaging workshop created a supportive environment for students to express their ideas with greater confidence. With 100% of the 15 participants reporting improved knowledge and practical skills, the programme demonstrated how creative learning can turn ideas into stronger communication and lasting confidence.

Research Beyond Borders, Excellence on the Global Stage.

Three PhD students from INTI International University; Yin Zhumin, Li Ping and Liu Qiong, recently presented their research at the ASICE 2026 Conference in Bangkok, showcasing diverse perspectives across language education, cultural heritage, AI and digital learning.

A standout achievement came from Yin Zhumin, who received the Overall Best Presenter Award for her research, “Chinese Cultural Aphasia in English Language Education: A Systematic Review and Trans-cultural Reconstruction Framework.”

The conference also featured:
•⁠ ⁠Liu Qiong — The Dissolution of Auspiciousness: Algorithmic Vision and the Misreading of Homophonic Symbolism in Qing Bat Motifs
•⁠ ⁠Li Ping — Government-Led Public Digital Learning Platforms in a Global Perspective: Current Landscape and Future Directions

Making a meaningful difference through global community engagement!

Participants took part in a impactful University Social Responsibility (USR) program at Uplands Estate in Kandy, Sri Lanka, held alongside the 3rd International Conference on Sustainable Education (ICSE).

Organized by the ICSE committee, the initiative offered a wonderful opportunity to extend a helping hand and serve underprivileged communities abroad. Along the journey, the team stopped at a local herbal garden to discover Sri Lanka’s rich variety of traditional herbs and spices, before wrapping up the day at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic—the most sacred cultural site in the country.

Exploring Sri Lanka Through Culture, History and Discovery

Organised by the Faculty of Education and Liberal Art, alongside the 3rd International Conference on Sustainable Education (ICSE), the study tour to Sri Lanka offered participants an enriching experience filled with cultural exploration, historical insights and memorable encounters.

The journey included visits to Gangaramaya Temple, Cinnamon Island to discover traditional Ceylon cinnamon production, and a moonstone mine for a closer look at Sri Lanka’s gemstone industry.

At Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, participants explored the fascinating historical connections between Galle and Melaka, shaped by their shared Portuguese and Dutch colonial heritage.

The tour continued in Udawalawe with a wildlife safari, elephant feeding observation and the Elephant Knowledge Walk, bringing together learning, cultural appreciation and unforgettable experiences throughout the journey.

INTI’s Faculty of Education and Liberal Arts (FELA) successfully hosted a 2-day Research Poster Exhibition at the Tan Sri Abdul Majid Library.

Led by Dr. Rachel Sing-Ee Tan, the notable exhibition showcased the research of 53 students across our Doctor of Education (DEd) and Master of Education Management (MEM) programmes.

For our DEd candidates, the event marked a pivotal milestone in their academic journey as they successfully completed their proposal defences.

Congratulations to all our postgraduate students on reaching this milestone!
