Fostering Institutional Partnerships: UniMAIWP Delegation Visit

Kuala Lumpur, 10 September 2026 : Today, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) had the distinct honor of hosting a distinguished delegation from Universiti Antarabangsa MAIWP (UniMAIWP), led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohd Afandi Salleh. He was joined by Deputy Vice-Chancellors Prof. Dr. Rosylin Mohd Yusof, Prof. Dr. Nurul Aliah Mustafa, and Prof. Dr. Azizi Ayob, alongside Registrar Madam Fazlimah Mohamed @ Wahab. Wholly owned by the Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan, UniMAIWP shared their inspiring journey from a 1993 nursing school under Hospital Pusrawi to a comprehensive institution offering 36 MQA-accredited programmes today. The delegation was warmly received by our Board of Governors Chairman, Prof. Emeritus Dato' Dr. Hassan Said, along with Deputy Vice-Chancellors Prof. Datin Dr. Hazlina Ahmad and Prof. Dr. Habibah A. Wahab, and key university officials.

Building on UniMAIWP’s deep-rooted history in healthcare education, the visit centered on exploring strategic academic and research collaborations between our institutions. Our highly productive discussions focused on forging impactful partnerships, particularly to advance both undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Pharmacy and Nursing. Crucially, this collaborative effort symbolizes our shared commitment to empowering the 'bottom billion' students, in steadfast alignment with USM’s core mission to transform higher education for a sustainable tomorrow.

Universiti Perkukuh Rangkaian Kolaborasi Melalui Sesi Perbincangan Draf Garis Panduan Kerjasama Akademik Pesisir dan Francais

Kuala Lumpur, 10 September 2026 : Dalam usaha memperkasakan kualiti penawaran program pendidikan tinggi serta meluaskan jaringan strategik, satu sesi perbincangan khusus mengenai Draf Garis Panduan Kerjasama Akademik secara Pesisir dan Francais telah dilaksanakan di USM@KL. Sesi penting ini diketuai oleh Timbalan Naib Canselor (Akademik & Antarabangsa), Prof.Datin Dr. Noor Hazlina Ahmad dan dihadiri oleh wakil semua pemegang taruh pengurusan hal ehwal akademik termasuk Bahagian Pengurusan Akademik, Pusat Kualiti Akademik, Pusat Swa akreditasi, Institut Pengajian Siswazah serta Jabatan Bendahari. Turut hadir di sesi awal perbincangan adalah Pengerusi Lembaga Gabenor USM, Prof. Emeritus Dato' Dr. Hassan Said.

Perbincangan ini memberi fokus kepada pembentukan struktur kerjasama yang lebih mampan dan terselaras. Draf garis panduan yang dibentangkan ini digubal dengan merujuk secara langsung kepada garis panduan dan standard kualiti yang telah ditetapkan oleh pihak kementerian. Ini bagi memastikan setiap kolaborasi yang dijalankan kelak bukan sahaja mematuhi syarat yang ketat, malah mengekalkan integriti akademik di tahap tertinggi.

Apabila diluluskan kelak, dokumen ini akan diguna pakai sebagai kerangka rujukan rasmi dan komprehensif oleh semua pusat pengajian di universiti. Ia akan menjadi panduan wajib bagi mana-mana pusat pengajian yang berhasrat untuk menjalinkan usahasama dan kerjasama akademik bersama rakan strategik dari dalam mahupun luar negara.

Inisiatif penyelarasan garis panduan ini dijangka akan melancarkan proses pentadbiran penawaran program, mempercepatkan pembentukan kerjasama antarabangsa dan domestik, serta menyokong perancangan strategik universiti dalam meluaskan kebolehcapaian akademik secara global.

Strengthening Global Partnerships: A Warm Welcome to Tilting Futures

27 Aug : USM was thrilled to host a courtesy visit from our esteemed partners at TilFing Futures (formerly known as Global Citizen Year) is an educational non-profit organization that specializes in international student mobility, experiential learning, and leadership development.

We have been proudly collaborating with Tilting Futures to run impactful student mobility programs, giving the students incredible opportunities to gain global exposure and expand their academic horizons.

A special thank you to the TilFing Futures representatives, Ms. Jennifer Lofing Boyle (Vice President of Programs) and Mr. Odiaka Gonzalez (Chief Operating Officer & Project Manager), for taking the time to visit our campus. They were warmly received by our Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International) , Prof. Datin Dr. Noor Hazlina Ahmad alongside Sr. Dr. Muneera Esa, our Deputy Director , International Office.

We had highly productive discussions on how to further enhance our current mobility initiatives and unlock even more exciting international opportunities for our students in the near future.
