18 May 2026 ~ From Campus to Career: Bridging the Gap with Real Industry Insights!

The Intern Insight: Alumni Industry Sharing session brought together inspiring SOM USM alumni and future talents for an engaging discussion on industry expectations, workplace realities, and the skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive world.

From communication and adaptability to leadership and continuous learning, our students gained valuable firsthand insights from experienced industry professionals. The energy, enthusiasm, and active participation from nearly 200 students truly reflected the spirit of future-ready learning at SOM USM.

The Compliance Evaluation Audit for Postgraduate Programmes (PhD and MA) has been successfully concluded. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the panel of auditors, led by Prof Dr. Mohd Rizal Palil, as well as PSA of Universiti Sains Malaysia, for their valuable insights, constructive feedback, and professional guidance throughout the audit process.

🌱 SULAM @ School of Management, USM | ACW394 – Business Ethics & Corporate Governance
As part of the Service Learning Malaysia – University for Society (SULAM) initiative, students enrolled in ACW394: Business Ethics and Corporate Governance actively engaged with companies to promote ethical values and responsible governance practices.
📌 What did our students do?
Through structured field engagement, students:

Conducted ethical assessments of real business practices
Identified ethical risks and governance gaps
Provided practical analysis, recommendations, and improvement strategies
Assisted companies in moving towards the implementation of ethical conduct and ethical governance frameworks

This experiential learning approach enabled students to apply ethical theories and corporate governance principles in real organisational settings, while supporting businesses in strengthening transparency, accountability, and integrity.
💡 Impact:
✅ Enhanced ethical awareness and governance readiness among partner companies
✅ Improved students’ critical thinking, professional judgement, and real-world problem-solving skills
✅ Strengthened university–industry–community collaboration in line with SULAM principles

MY MONEY & ME WORKSHOP 2026 –BIJAK URUS WANG KE ARAH MASA DEPAN TERJAMIN 💰📊

USM Pulau Pinang, 25 April 2026 – Pusat Pengajian Pengurusan (SOM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) telah berjaya menganjurkan program literasi kewangan dengan kerjasama Majlis Perancangan Kewangan Malaysia (MFPC) di Dewan Kuliah SK2, USM. 🎓🤝

Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesedaran tentang kepentingan perancangan kewangan dalam kalangan pelajar dan masyarakat sebelum terlambat. ⏳💡

Lebih 350 peserta hadir termasuk 240 pelajar USM, 50 dari UUM, dan 60 orang awam. Sambutan program yang luar biasa ini membuktikan kejayaan program yang penuh bermanfaat. 👏✨

Majlis perasmian disempurnakan oleh Encik Mohd Radzuwan Bin Mohamed, Naib Presiden dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif dari MFPC, Profesor Madya Dr Siti Rohaida Mohamed Zainal, Timbalan Dekan Hal Ehwal Pelajar dan Alumni, Pusat Pengajian Pengurusan (USM), Encik Charles Tan Swee Choon, Pengerusi MFPC Cawangan Pulau Pinang, dan YB Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng, Pengerusi, Penang Liaison Committee, Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation,. 🎉

Program ini juga turut disokong oleh pelbagai agensi termasuk Financial Education Network, Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi, Bank Negara Malaysia dan lain-lain. Sejajar dengan itu, program ini turut melibatkan kerjasama erat daripada rakan strategik iaitu Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (LHDNM), Persekutuan Pengurus Pelaburan Malaysia (FIMM), Suruhanjaya Sekuriti, Malaysian Takaful Association, Persatuan Insurance Hayat Malaysia, Bix Malaysia, PERKESO dan Asia’s Global Investment House. Antara topik yang dibincangkan termasuk pengurusan kewangan, cukai, pelaburan, pencegahan penipuan, dan kepentingan takaful. 📚💼

Setinggi-tinggi penghargaan kepada Profesor Madya Dr. Haslindar Ibrahim selaku penyelaras program serta 40 pelajar jawatankuasa Kelab AKPK Grow yang telah menunjukkan komitmen luar biasa. 🙌🎓

Program ini juga diteruskan lagi dengan sesi soal jawab dan kuiz interaktif yang memberi peluang kepada peserta untuk berinteraksi secara langsung. ❓🎯

Inisiatif ini membuktikan komitmen USM dalam memperkasa belia dengan ilmu kewangan demi masa depan yang lebih terjamin. 💪💸
