03 March 2026

Today, our research group successfully organized the “Grad Lounge: Postgraduate & Postdoc Research Sharing” event. The session served as a knowledge-sharing platform for postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers from the Electronic Packaging and Thin Film Materials Research Group.

The main objective of the event was to provide an opportunity for members to present their ongoing research, exchange ideas, and receive constructive feedback from peers and supervisors. Several postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers delivered short presentations highlighting their research progress, methodologies, key findings, and future directions.

The session encouraged active discussion, with participants engaging in thoughtful questions and suggestions. This interaction not only strengthened understanding of the diverse research areas within the group but also promoted potential collaboration among members.

Overall, the event was productive and insightful. It fostered a supportive academic environment, enhanced research communication skills, and reinforced the spirit of teamwork within the group. The Grad Lounge is expected to continue serving as a valuable platform for academic growth and research excellence in the future.

Training on Shimadzu Differential Scanning Calorimetry DSC-60 Plus

Yesterday, the Electronic Packaging & Thin Film Materials Research Group successfully conducted a training session for our new Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Shimadzu Thermo Analyzer – DSC-60 Plus.

The session was led by Mr. Yew Wooi Meng, who provided a comprehensive walkthrough of the system’s operational procedures and software capabilities.

This high-sensitivity thermal analysis equipment is a significant addition to our lab at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). It will be instrumental in our ongoing research regarding the thermal stability and phase transitions of advanced electronic packaging and thin film materials.

SYNCHING UP BEFORE THE FESTIVE SEASON🤝✨

Before we dive into the Chinese New Year celebrations and prepare for the upcoming month of Ramadan, our research group took a moment to pause and recharge together.

It was a wonderful pre-festive meeting with all our dedicated researchers and postgraduate students. While we usually spend our time focused on our research works, today was all about celebrating the members who make our lab a community.

Wishing everyone a season of joy, peace, and productivity!🎉🎊
