This evening, the Theatrette at Menara OUM was filled for a Meet & Greet session with the new Chairman of the UNITEM Board of Directors, Dato’ Prof Ir Dr Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, in an engaging and inspiring session with OUM staff.
The event opened with welcoming remarks by our President/VC, Prof Dato’ Dr Ahmad Izanee Awang, who congratulated Dato’ Farhan on his appointment and highlighted the strength of OUM’s academic community, including its 606 staff members and growing pool of PhD-qualified academics.
Also present were Dato’ Naharudin Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer; Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Mohd Tajudin Md Ninggal, VP/Deputy VC (Academic & Research); Prof Datin Dr Santhi Raghavan, VP/Deputy VC (Learner Experience & Technology); Prof Dr Yon Rosli Daud, VP/Deputy VC (Business Development), alongside academics and staff.
In his sharing session, Dato’ Farhan reflected on his early involvement in distance education and spoke on the opportunities ahead for OUM within the Malaysia Higher Education Blueprint.
With a focus on higher education’s purpose in shaping the future generation, he remarked, “Whatever we are doing in higher education is to create nation builders,” while underscoring a shared goal of delivering the best learning experience for learners.
It was a truly meaningful session that energised and inspired the OUM community!
