Monash University Malaysia has resumed normal campus operations today following a reported threat on 4 June.

We thank the Subang Jaya and Larkin District Police Departments and our security team for their swift response.

Last night, the University responded to a security alert regarding a possible bomb threat on campus.

Following a comprehensive security check, the Subang Jaya District Police Station has confirmed that the situation is now all clear and the Sunway City campus is safe to resume normal operations today, 5 June.

The CSJB campus will remain closed until further notice.

We thank our staff, students, and visitors for their cooperation and support throughout the incident.

Recently featured in two articles by The Star, Associate Professor Dr Anne Yee from the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences at Monash University Malaysia shared insights on va**ng trends among university students, drawing on findings from a systematic review involving 2,828 tertiary students across Malaysia.

The Monash Fledge Clinical Psychology and Counselling Centre has officially been launched by the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences’ Department of Psychology at Monash University Malaysia, marking an important step in the university’s efforts to strengthen clinical psychology and counselling training.

The centre will support student training through the Master of Professional Counselling and Master of Clinical Psychology programs, while also strengthening supervised clinical practice and community access to services. ✨

We are proud to share that Dr Howgen Pratama Kesuma, together with the team members Xing Tong Teoh, Wong Yi Yang, Low Yinn Ean, and Kye Li Ng from our School of Engineering, have won a Gold Medal at the International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition for their innovative work on a point-of-care supplement dispensing system.

This award reflects the strength of research and innovation at Monash University Malaysia, and its commitment to advancing preventive, personalised healthcare solutions in collaboration with industry partner Signsbeat Pte Ltd.

We are proud to highlight our alumnus, David Kan Yew Weng, featured in Sinar Daily for transforming his family-run business while preserving Klang’s heritage and cultural identity.

As the third-generation owner of Choon Guan Hainan Coffee 1956, David introduced bottled coffee labels featuring ten iconic landmarks across Klang, including places of worship and cultural sites that reflect the city’s long-standing multiracial harmony.

After leaving a consulting career in 2017, our School of Business graduate returned to continue his family’s coffee shop legacy while modernising operations, improving quality control and introducing healthier menu options.

More importantly, David believes traditional coffee shops remain relevant as social spaces for Malaysia’s multiracial communities.
