**Here's an update from CEMC, U Waterloo for the Awards & Recognition including the eligibility of a contestant for the EUCLID contest & CSMC:
EUCLID CONTEST
Admissions and Scholarships
Every graduating student (Canadian and international) who writes the Euclid Contest is eligible for scholarship consideration by the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo.
Official Contestants
Students that write the Euclid Contest in schools inside Canada are classified as “Canadian School Official” provided they
1.properly complete their Student Information Form,
2.were born on or after January 1, 1995, and
3.have been in attendance at an elementary school, secondary school, and/or CÉGEP in Canada for at least twelve months prior to December 31, 2013
All other students that write the Euclid Contest in schools inside Canada are classified as “Canadian School Unofficial”.
Students that write the Euclid Contest in schools outside Canada are classified as “International School Official” provided they
1.properly complete their Student Information Form, and
2.were born on or after January 1, 1995.
All other students that write the Euclid Contest in schools outside Canada are classified as “International School Unofficial”.
Individual Awards
•Every student scoring in the top 25% of all competitors receives a Certificate of Distinction.
•Each School Champion receives a Contest Medal, at the discretion of the CEMC Executive.
•The names of some top-scoring Canadian School Official contestants appear in zone, provincial and Canadian honour rolls. The names of some top-scoring Canadian School Unofficial contestants are listed separately.
•The names of some top-scoring International School Official contestants appear in International honour rolls.
•Each of the top five Canadian School Official contestants receives a Plaque and a cash prize of $500.
•Each of the next top ten Canadian School Official contestants receives a book prize.
Team Awards
A school's team score consists of the sum of the scores of its three highest scoring official contestants. Schools have the option of not participating in the team competition.
For schools in Canada, rankings are provided at three levels: zone, provincial, and national. Canadian schools are also eligible for the Canadian Championship Plaque, Provincial Championship Plaques, and Zone Championship Certificates (in zones with at least four competing teams).
For schools outside Canada, the ranking among all participating schools outside of Canada is provided.
CANADIAN SENIOR MATHEMATICS CONTEST
Official Contestants
Students that write the Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest in schools inside Canada are classified as “Canadian School Official” provided they
1.properly complete their Student Information Form,
2.were born on or after January 1, 1995, and
3.have been in attendance at an elementary school, secondary school, and/or CÉGEP in Canada for at least ten months prior to October 31, 2013
All other students that write the Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest in schools inside Canada are classified as “Canadian School Unofficial”.
Students that write the Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest in schools outside Canada are classified as “International School Official” provided they
1.properly complete their Student Information Form, and
2.were born on or after January 1, 1995.
All other students that write the Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest in schools outside Canada are classified as “International School Unofficial”.
