๐งผ๐งช SOAP MAKING: When Science Becomes Something They Can Take Home! โจ
Can a solid soap melt into a liquidโฆ and then become solid again? ๐
In our Kiddo Science Level 1 โ Introducing Science class, our little scientists discovered the fascinating world of States of Matter through something they can use every day โ SOAP! ๐งผโค๏ธ
Instead of simply learning about solid, liquid and changes of state, they got to experience the process themselves!
๐ฅ MELT IT
The children carefully melted the soap base and observed how a solid changed into a liquid when heated.
๐ง POUR & OBSERVE
They poured the melted soap into their moulds and watched what happened as it cooled.
โ๏ธ LET IT HARDEN
As the soap cooled down, the liquid gradually changed back into a solid with its own shape! โจ
And suddenly, the children could SEE what they had learned:
SOLID โ LIQUID โ SOLID ๐๐งช
For our Level 1 learners, these simple experiences are the foundation of scientific thinking.
They learn to observe:
๐ค What happened when we added heat?
๐ What changed?
โ๏ธ What happened when it cooled?
๐ง Can we explain why?
And the best part?
They made their very own soap! ๐ฅฐ๐งผ
At Kiddo Science, we believe young children don't need to start with complicated science.
Sometimes, the best way to introduce a scientific concept is through something simple, familiar and exciting.
From a little piece of soap, they discover heat, cooling, states of matter and changes around us. ๐ฌโจ
Because when children experience science with their own hands, the lesson becomes something they can understand โ and remember. โค๏ธ
