How do WE bridge the gap with industry>>>Embedding AI in the Civil Engineering Curriculum

Starting from the 2025โ€“26 academic year, the Civil Engineering programme integrates artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and computer modelling into its curriculum to prepare students for the evolving demands of the engineering profession. Beginning in Year 1, students are introduced to AI, machine learning, and Python programming through one-day workshop. These technologies are further embedded into coursework across key disciplines, including Structural, Water, Transportation, Geotechnical, and Environmental Engineering, enabling students to apply data-driven approaches to real-world engineering challenges. Students can also expand their expertise by taking the advanced elective course: Machine Learning and Python Programming, which provides deeper knowledge and practical applications of AI in civil engineering.
