Hi Everyone,

The Centre of Healthy Minds and Wellbeing of the Department of Student Affairs (DSA) Sungai Long Campus, Malaysia will be organising an International Webinar World Sleep Day 2024. The theme for this year 2024 is "Sleep Equity for Global Health". In the context, we also aim to promote the importance of sleep health across the board. This event also aims to create awareness that sleep is important & is foundational to one's physical, mental, and social well-being.

The objectives of the International Webinar World Sleep Day 2024 are as follows:
(a) To discuss neuroanatomy & physiology of sleep.
(b) To explore sleep-related corroborated endeavours, research, current trends
(c) To promote psychological well-being, mindfulness and physical health among UTARians and the community.
(d) To discuss the prevention and promotional perspective/ methods of sleep issues.
(e) To promote & increase awareness, and knowledge towards sleep issues and their impact.

The International Webinar World Sleep Day 2024 is planned to be held via virtually as follows:
Date: 16 and 17 March 2024
Time : 10am to 4pm (Malaysian Time)
Venue : Online platform Zoom
Target group: Open to All
Fee: Free

Dear staff and students,

Get ready to celebrate our Merdeka spirit this year with Go As ONE Carnival 6.0!

In anticipation of Malaysia's 65th Merdeka, we are pleased to invite you to join us at the carnival which will be held as follows:

Date : 8 September 2022 (Thursday)
Time : 9.00pm to 4.00pm
Venue : Multipurpose Hall (MPH), UTAR Sungai Long Campus

The carnival is expected to be a lively event as various exciting activities will be carried out throughout the carnival such as food and beverages booths, performances, traditional and modern games, as well as physical competitions such as Merdeka Singing Competition and Henna Competition. The physical competitions will be held from 9.00am to 12.00pm at the carnival.

The programme of the Go As ONE Carnival 6.0 is attached for your reference.

With this, it is the pleasure of the organising committee to invite participation from you to have a joyful Merdeka celebration with us.

Rules and Regulations:
1. All participants must register through the official Google form provided and scan your completed artwork in JPEG format and submit via the link below https://bit.ly/3AyD2Jf OR Scan the QR code.

2. Download the colouring paper (A4 size) via the link below

3. Participants can choose to colour with coloured pencils/ oil pastels/ water Colours

4. Do not randomly add things to the original colouring paper that provided

5. The organiser reserves the night to modify or change the terms and conditions herein without any prior notice

Judging Criteria:
1. All the artworks will be posted from 2 to 6 September 2022 on the Virtual Go as ONE page: https://www.facebook.com/GoAsONE

1. Eligibility Open to UTAR Staffs & Students only.

2. Entry Form All participants are compulsory to register via this google form no later than 1st September 2022.

(Registration will be closed once reaching limit of 20 participants)

3. Dates & Venue:
Singing competition will be held on 8th September 2022 from 9am to 12pm at Multipurpose Hall, UTAR Sungai Long KB Block.
Participants must reach by 8.30am for attendance registration purpose. Participants who reach later than 9am will be treated as disqualification.

4. Objectives &Themes:
The objectives of the competition are:
- To celebrate “Merdeka” with all UTARians
- To show your patriotism through singing

5. Conditions:
1. Only solo category is offered and per entry for each submission.
2. Participants would need bring own instrumentalist/accompaniment for performance, but do update the instruments/accompaniment that be used in the google form.
3. Participants are required to prepare 3- to 5-minute performance.
4. Participants will be randomly assigned the sequence of performance.
5. The performance in the event day must be performed by the participants stated in the registration entry form
6. The songs must be related to the theme of Merdeka.Participants would also be requested to list down how does the song relate to Merdeka in the registration form.
7. Participants may sing only in English, Mandarin, Malay language.
8. Participants are allowed to change the lyrics but lyrics must be attached in the google form.
9. Entries must not contain or reference any names, products or services of any company or entity or any third-party trademarks, logos, trade dress or promotion of any brand,product or services (other than the organiser’s).
10. Entries with lyrics that are lewd, obscene, sexually explicit,pornographic,disparaging, defamatory, libellous, illegal,political, offensive, or otherwise contain inappropriate content or objectionable material should not be submitted and the organizer reserves the right to remove or demand the participants to remove such entry at any time in the organizer’s sole discretion.
11. Any performance that has interpretative movements or gestures that is considered are lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, pornographic, disparaging, defamatory, libellous,
illegal, political, offensive or is inappropriate will be disqualified and the participant informed of the fact post-performance.
12. All costs and expenses in connection with the production of the entry and the participation of the competitions shall be fully borne by the participants.

6. Rights of Organizer:
1. Performance that does not comply to rules and regulations shall be disqualified. All decisions made by the respected organizers regarding this competition shall be final.
2. Entries that are damaged, corrupted, incomplete, or illegible will not be accepted and will be disqualified.
3. The organiser may at its sole and absolute discretion extend the competitions’ period at any time without any prior notice to any party whatsoever. Unless otherwise varied to the contrary by the organizer, any participation in the competitions during the extended period (if any) shall be governed by the Terms and Conditions set out herein which shall remain in full force and effect at all times.
4. By submitting an entry to the competitions, participants confirm that they are the legal and/or beneficial owner or otherwise have the intellectual property rights to submit/utilize such materials; and therefore, warrant that they have obtained rights in incorporating copyrighted materials i.e., music, soundtrack, audio, graphics, images and/or video clips in their entry. Each entry and any part thereof shall not at any time infringe or violate any laws or the rights of third party.
5. By submitting the entries, the producers and owners of the entries are to grant the organiser the exclusive rights of the copyright to use the entries or material submitted for library,promotional, or commercial use globally.

7. Judging Procedure:
A total of THREE (3) Judges will be appointed as the jury for the
competition.
1. The judges will look for a creative, engaging and inspiring
performance. Your performance will be judged based on:
a. Technique (50%)
• Vocal – Tone, Support, Diction, Intonation, Ornamentation
(extended technique) and Articulation
Dynamics: Consistent and appropriate in tandem with style and
lyrical intent
Rhythm and Tempo: Consistent with the accompaniment (if
applicable) and appropriate with the style.
b. Interpretation (30%)
• Appropriate Choice of Style
- Consistency with the chosen musical accompaniment style
- Consistent with the lyrical intent of the chosen performance
Choice
c. Showmanship (20%)
• Use of Space, Movement and Presence in relation to the interpretation
• Entertainment Value – The audience’s and judges’ reaction to the
overall performance
2. The judging panel reserves the right to reject any submission without notice or explanation to the participant.
3. All decisions made are final and no correspondences shall be
entertained.

8. Prize Giving The winners will be announced on Prizing Giving Ceremony on 8th September 2022 at 1pm in MPH.

7. Judging Procedure:
A total of THREE (3) Judges will be appointed as the jury for the
competition.
1. The judges will look for a creative, engaging and inspiring
performance. Your performance will be judged based on:
a. Technique (50%)
• Vocal – Tone, Support, Diction, Intonation, Ornamentation
(extended technique) and Articulation
Dynamics: Consistent and appropriate in tandem with style and
lyrical intent
Rhythm and Tempo: Consistent with the accompaniment (if
applicable) and appropriate with the style.
b. Interpretation (30%)
• Appropriate Choice of Style
- Consistency with the chosen musical accompaniment style
- Consistent with the lyrical intent of the chosen performance
Choice
c. Showmanship (20%)
• Use of Space, Movement and Presence in relation to the interpretation
• Entertainment Value – The audience’s and judges’ reaction to the
overall performance
2. The judging panel reserves the right to reject any submission without notice or explanation to the participant.
3. All decisions made are final and no correspondences shall be
entertained.

8. Prize Giving The winners will be announced on Prizing Giving Ceremony on 8th September 2022 at 1pm in MPH.

1. The digital poster design contest requires participants to submit their entry though the link below from 15 July until 1 September 2022.

3. The contestants are selected based on the design submitted. These selected contestants will be announced on 8 September 2022.

4. The contest is free and open to all University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Students.

5. The digital design should be in A3 size. The contestant must submit the details as follows together with poster at Department of Student Affairs, KB 006, KB Block, Sungai Long Campus or Department of Student Affairs, Student Pavilion 1, 1st Floor Kampar Campus: -

6. The design must berelevant to the theme as above following the guidelines in the contest rules. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean the acceptance of the contest rules and the terms and conditions.

8. All entries must be the participants’ original works and no part or component thereof is copied from any other work.

9. Entries that are damaged, corrupted, incomplete, or illegible will not be accepted and will be disqualified.

3. Judging will be based on originality, creativity and innovation of the posters which conform to the theme. Your entry will be judged based on:

2) Composition (Unity, Variety, Craftmanship) 30%
3) Quality of Idea 20%
4) Match 10%
5) Number of Facebook Likes Received 30%
