UNM PHIR-Nott An academic society of the School of Politics, History and International Relations, University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM).

UNM PHIR-Nott (pronounced ‘fear not’) is the student group for the School of Politics, History and International Relations (PHIR). It was established in September 2011 by the pioneer batch of undergraduate students with the aim of providing a platform for all PHIR students to explore their interests in international affairs during the course of their studies at UNM. PHIR-Nott seeks to enrich the u

niversity experience of PHIR students with regards to academic, social and other related issues. PHIR-Nott’s activities have included educational trips to the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot, and panel discussion sessions. PHIR-Nott’s remit extends beyond the seminar room. The group organises recreational trips such as paintballing, lunches and dinners off-campus in informal settings to give students relief from their studies, and promote closer understanding and relations between the students and staff.

hi! this isn’t our usual political or promotional content, but before we pass things on, I wanted to share something a little more personal about this club.

as the former creative director, I helped shape the club’s image—and the creative team truly did an amazing job. but more than that, I had the privilege of capturing what really makes a club memorable: its people.

so I put together a little something for my team, a glimpse of what SPIR-Nott looked like through my eyes.

so if you’re ever unsure about joining a committee or stepping out of your comfort zone, here’s my little push; because you never know, you might just find a home like my team and I did.
