The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), joins the global community in commemorating World Hospice and Palliative Care Day on 10 October 2026.

This year’s theme, “Pain Management: An Essential Part of Palliative Care,” highlights the importance of effective pain management in improving the quality of life of individuals living with serious illnesses. Palliative care focuses on providing comfort, dignity and compassionate support to patients and their families throughout their healthcare journey.

Let us raise awareness of the importance of accessible and quality palliative care by promoting compassionate healthcare, supporting patients and caregivers, and ensuring that pain relief and comfort remain essential components of patient-centred care.
