The Department of Bioprocess Technology, through the BTC3501 Bioentrepreneurship Concept course, successfully organized the online forum “Science Meets Startup: Cultivating the Next Generation of Bioinnovators” on Saturday, 21 June 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

The forum aimed to expose students to real-world applications of scientific innovation through entrepreneurship. Two esteemed panelists were invited to share their insights: Mr. Gunaseelan Seeryanathan, Head of Business Development at Bio Terra Solutions Sdn. Bhd., and YBhg. Datin Aznita Naziz, Vice President of BioIndustrial at Bioeconomy Corporation. The discussion centered on navigating the biotech startup journey, commercializing scientific research, and preparing students for careers in the bioeconomy ecosystem. The event was attended by approximately 110 students and lecturers.

January 14–16, 2025: The Yokohama Science Frontier High School paid its third consecutive annual visit to the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences for an exciting joint research collaboration. Over the course of three action-packed days, the visit featured two engaging workshops and dynamic discussions about current research progress and future partnerships. Here’s to even greater achievements and fruitful outcomes for both teams in the years to come!

14 Jan 2025 - The Department of Bioprocess Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia organize a Knowledge Transfer Program entitled Extracting Palm Oil from Oil Palm Fruits for Yokohama Science Frontier High School, Namiki High School and Ikeda High School (Japan). The program was designed to expose the students on basic process involved in the oil extraction, and explain the importance and benefit of palm oil to the global vegetable oil supply. Gambatte!
