We are proud to bring the Putra Management & Leadership Programme (Global Series 2) to Birmingham, United Kingdom, another international learning experience designed to take leadership development beyond the classroom. As part of our commitment to providing meaningful leadership experiences, this programme brings participants together to explore new perspectives, connect with industry and gain insights that can be brought back and applied in their own organisations.

This year, the Putra Management & Leadership Programme (Global Series 2), themed “Global Insights, Local Impact: An International Leadership Learning Experience,” will take place from 27 September to 3 October 2026 at Aston University, Conference Aston Hotel, Birmingham, United Kingdom. The seven-day programme provides participants with an opportunity to gain new perspectives through leadership learning, international exposure, industry engagement and experiential learning.

The programme brings together classroom learning and real-world experiences, allowing participants to explore different perspectives on leadership, innovation, transformation, organisational growth and business development. Through engagement with industry practitioners and learning beyond the classroom, participants will have the opportunity to see how leadership ideas are applied in different organisational settings.

Beyond gaining knowledge, the programme encourages participants to look beyond familiar perspectives, exchange ideas and reflect on how international experiences can be applied within their own organisations.

From global perspectives to local impact, this journey is about discovering new ideas, gaining fresh perspectives and bringing meaningful insights home.

Heeba Gul chose Putra Business School for its strong academic reputation, supportive research environment, and emphasis on meaningful, practice-oriented scholarship. She credits the guidance of her supervisors and the support of the students' office for helping her develop an independent voice as a researcher.

Like many PhD candidates, Heeba's journey meant balancing professional responsibilities, family commitments, and the demands of qualitative research. Challenging moments during data collection, analysis, and thesis writing were overcome through resilience, disciplined planning, and continuous support from her supervisors and family.

Her motivation throughout was clear: a desire to contribute to quality assurance in higher education, particularly understanding how staff engagement can strengthen accreditation and a sustainable quality culture, alongside a wish to pave the way for her family's future.

Her advice to future PBS students: persistence is the key. Every challenge can become part of your growth as a scholar, so remain persistent.

𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 | 𝗢𝗿𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

20 September 2026 – The Putra Business School Student & Alumni Association (PSAA) successfully organised the Orphanage Visit 2026, themed “Together We Care, Together We Share,” led by Brad Soy Chee Chien, President of PSAA, and Wan Hariz, Event Director.

The visit brought together PBS students and alumni to spread love, build hope and create meaningful moments for children at Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheera and BRDB Rotary Children’s Residence

Throughout the visit, participants shared a McDonald’s meal with the children, enjoyed engaging activities such as playing card games and participating in a pop quiz, and distributed goodies bags prepared for the children. These meaningful interactions created joyful moments, strengthened connections, and brought smiles to the children, making the visit a memorable experience for everyone involved.

The programme provided an opportunity for volunteers to connect with the children, share happiness and create memorable experiences beyond the classroom. Every smile, interaction and contribution reminded us of the importance of compassion, community and giving back.

A sincere appreciation to all PBS students, alumni, volunteers and contributors who made this meaningful initiative possible. Your time, effort and generosity helped make the day special for approximately 100 children.

The government's move to extend electricity bill protection to domestic users with monthly consumption of up to 800 kWh is seen as giving households additional purchasing power, particularly while cost of living pressures continue to be felt. The measure is expected to benefit about eight million domestic users.

Prof Dr Ahmed Razman Abdul Latiff, Director of the MBA & DBA Programmes at Putra Business School, shared his views with RTM on the impact of the measure. He noted that users consuming 800 kWh a month could save up to RM47.25, while those consuming between 600 and 750 kWh could save around RM33 to RM44 monthly, which can go towards groceries and other basic necessities. He also described the protection as temporary relief rather than a structural solution, and encouraged consumers to use the period to improve electricity efficiency. He added that the government should review the mechanism for next year to ensure assistance is targeted at households that need it most.

10 September 2026 – The Putra Business School Student & Alumni Association (PSAA), led by Brad Soy Chee Chien, President of PSAA, successfully concluded the fifth and final session of the Research Skills Series 2026 in collaboration with UPM Library.

The session, “Styling and Formatting with MS Word,” was presented by Puan Najah binti Mohd Ali, Pustakawan Kanan, Seksyen Literasi Maklumat, Bahagian Perkhidmatan dan Pendidikan Pengguna.

Participants gained hands-on knowledge in managing document layouts, applying heading styles, creating automated tables of contents and lists, and formatting captions for tables and figures.

The session equipped PBS students and alumni with valuable skills to streamline thesis preparation and improve the quality of their academic writing.
