School of Business and Economics, Universiti Putra Malaysia is an internationally acclaimed business school and is recognised as one of the top research universities in the region, attracting researchers and scholars from around the world. In 2012, UPM School of Business and Economics became Malaysia's first higher education institution and the sixth in South-East Asia to receive international accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Most recently, in October 2022, SPE also became the first in Malaysia and the seventh in SEA to be awarded EQUIS Accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). The School of Business and Economics, or Sekolah Perniagaan dan Ekonomi (SPE), was established in January 1974 as the fourth faculty in Universiti Putra Malaysia, in its original name, the Faculty of Resource Economics and Agribusiness. It was later renamed the Faculty of Economics and Management in 1997 before assuming its current name, the School of Business and Economics, in March 2020. We offer Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes that are highly rated in the country. In the 2022 QS World University Rankings by Subject, our subjects in Accounting & Finance, Business & Management Studies, and Economics & Econometrics were ranked in the top 200. Located in Serdang, Selangor, the School is a mere 27 km from the capital city of Kuala Lumpur and a short distance from the Federal Territory of Putrajaya. UPM School of Business and Economics is on a verdant land surrounded by flora and fauna and easily accessible by modern highways and rails.

The MBA Industry Insights Seminar brought together MBA students, alongside other postgraduate students, for an engaging exchange of industry perspectives.

Featuring Mrs. Siti Norliza Mohd Sahar of CIMB Bank Berhad, Mr. Sebastian Tai Jian Haw of Digital Commerce Advisory and Mrs. Zakiah Abd Malek of Creative Stew Sdn Bhd, the seminar offered insights from professionals across media, e-commerce and banking industries.

A Day of Leadership & Exchange

SBE UPM was pleased to welcome 25 youth leaders from Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Senegal, Timor-Leste, Pakistan, Nigeria, Tajikistan and Brunei Darussalam as part of the Asia Pacific Leaders Summit (APLS) 2026.

Our very own lecturer, Dr. Apriani Kurnia Suci, also contributed as Keynote Speaker and Judge, sharing her expertise and perspectives with the young leaders.

The delegates took part in an SBE UPM Workshop, Leadership & SDG Implementation Group Project, and Young Leaders Speak-Up Forum, exploring leadership, sustainability and meaningful impact.
