LAWATAN PENANDA ARAS UPNM KE FKA UiTM SHAH ALAM

Pada 24 September 2026, Fakulti Kejuruteraan Awam (FKA), UiTM Shah Alam telah menerima kunjungan 15 orang delegasi Jabatan Kejuruteraan Awam, Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) bagi program lawatan penanda aras.

Sesi perkongsian merangkumi kurikulum, pelaksanaan OBE, pentaksiran, jaminan kualiti dan penambahbaikan berterusan (CQI). Delegasi turut melawat fasiliti makmal FKA.

Terima kasih kepada delegasi UPNM atas kunjungan dan perkongsian yang bermanfaat. Semoga hubungan baik antara kedua-dua institusi terus berkembang.

🎓 Manchester Metropolitan University Visits UiTM to Explore Future Collaboration

📅 21st September 2026, Monday

Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) was pleased to welcome representatives from the School of Engineering and Environment, Manchester Metropolitan University (Manchester Met) for an academic visit and engagement session.
🤝 The discussion was led by Assoc. Prof. Ir. Gs. Dr. Norashikin Ahmad Kamal, together with academic members from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Built Environment, UiTM. The session provided a valuable platform for both institutions to exchange perspectives on engineering education, construction and the built environment, research, digital innovation and future academic collaboration.
💡 We were particularly impressed by Manchester Met’s strengths in areas such as sport science, advanced manufacturing, 3D printing and technology-enhanced education.
🏎️ One interesting example is MCR MET Racing, Manchester Metropolitan University’s Formula Student team, which utilises the university’s PrintCity facilities to support the design and manufacture of complex components using advanced 3D-printing technologies, including lightweight engine plenums and intake runner systems.
🧠 Another notable development is Manchester Met’s adoption of the Anatomage Theater, with the university hosting the first installation of this immersive anatomy teaching technology in the United Kingdom, demonstrating how advanced visualisation can enhance teaching, learning and research.
🔬 The discussion also explored several potential areas for future collaboration, including joint research, knowledge sharing, staff and student engagement, digital technologies, advanced manufacturing and interdisciplinary initiatives.
🌍 As an immediate way forward, both institutions are looking towards collaborative teaching activities, which may include joint lectures, invited teaching sessions, academic knowledge exchange and opportunities for students to benefit from international classroom engagement between UiTM and Manchester Metropolitan University.
🤝 We look forward to strengthening this relationship and developing meaningful and sustainable collaboration between both universities.

A Milestone for FCE UiTM! 🌏🏗️

The Faculty of Civil Engineering (FCE), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) proudly celebrates the successful organisation of its first-ever international conference - EXCEEDS 2026: International Conference on Engineering Excellence in Civil, Environmental and Education Sustainability, held from 23-24 September 2026 at Mardhiyyah Hotel and Suites in Shah Alam, Selangor, in hybrid mode.

Under the theme “Engineer Resilience for a Changing World: Building Future-Proof Cities, Infrastructure & Engineers,” EXCEEDS 2026 brought together academics, researchers, postgraduate students, industry professionals, consultants, policymakers and engineering educators to exchange knowledge, showcase innovative solutions and strengthen collaboration across academia, industry and government.

This inaugural conference marks an important milestone for FCE UiTM in strengthening its visibility and commitment towards engineering excellence, resilient infrastructure, sustainability and transformative engineering education.
A heartfelt thank you and congratulations to the organising committee, keynote speakers, co-organisers, technical partners, presenters, participants, students and everyone who contributed towards making EXCEEDS 2026 a success.

🌳 ROTHOSCHOOL ON TOUR — DESIGN TIMBER IN THE TROPICS

Mass timber is changing how the world builds. But designing with CLT and Glulam in a tropical climate is a different challenge altogether — humidity, termites, corrosion, fire.

For the first time in Malaysia, Rothoblaas brings its Rothoschool training programme to UiTM. A full-day technical course delivered by engineers from Rothoblaas headquarters in Italy, hosted by the Faculty of Civil Engineering, UiTM Shah Alam.

What's covered:
▪️ The potential of mass timber in the tropics — CLT, Glulam & wood species
▪️ Challenges & solutions for tropical design — durability, corrosion, termite and site protection
▪️ Hybrid structures: where efficiency and performance meet architectural beauty

📚 MINGGU AKADEMIK FKA | SEMESTER OKTOBER 2026 – FEBRUARI 2027 (SESI 20264)

Fakulti Kejuruteraan Awam (FKA), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam telah melaksanakan Minggu Akademik FKA pada 14–18 September 2026 sebagai persediaan bagi menghadapi semester baharu, Oktober 2026 – Februari 2027.

Sepanjang program, warga akademik FKA telah mengikuti pelbagai sesi perkongsian dan taklimat merangkumi pengurusan akademik, etika penyelidikan, Complex Problem (CP), Broadly Defined (BD), SULAM, PO Attainment, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), Values-Based Education (VBE), Final Year Project (FYP), Work-Based Learning (WBL), Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), Open-Ended Laboratory (OEL) serta perkara berkaitan pengurusan dan pembangunan akademik.

Program ini turut menjadi platform penting untuk menyelaras perancangan, memperkukuh kefahaman warga fakulti serta memastikan penyampaian akademik yang berkualiti dan selari dengan keperluan pendidikan kejuruteraan semasa.
