Congratulations to Muhammad Noor Iman bin Sa’adon who passed his MPhil viva with corrections on 4th June 2026 (Thursday).

His thesis was titled “HAND GESTURE INTERACTION FRAMEWORK FOR MULTI-USER OBJECT MANIPULATION IN MULTI-PLATFORM VIRTUAL REALITY“ supervised by Dr. Halina binti Mohamed Dahlan.

His examiners were Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Farhan bin Mohamed and Prof. Ir. Dr. Riza bin Sulaiman (UKM). The viva session was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haza Nuzly bin Abdull Hamed and recorded by Dr. Fazliaty Edora binti Fadzli.

This year, the challenge was embedded as part of the 𝐖𝐞𝐛 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞, 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲-𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩 𝐚 𝐰𝐞𝐛 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐑𝐏𝐀) 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐢𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡, enabling them to apply both web development and automation technologies to solve real-world business challenges.

A total of 𝟏𝟎 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 were selected to compete in the final stage of the competition, comprising 𝐬𝐢𝐱 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐔𝐓𝐌 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐡𝐫𝐮, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚-𝐉𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 (𝐌𝐉𝐈𝐈𝐓), 𝐔𝐓𝐌 𝐊𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐫.

The 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝟑 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 at DHL Imazium, Petaling Jaya, where finalists showcased their innovative solutions before a panel of DHL APSSC representatives and industry professionals.

Huawei Future Tech Innovators Summit

A 10-member delegation of students and staff from the Faculty of Computing (FC) participated in the Huawei Future Tech Innovators Summit organised by Huawei at the Huawei AI Lab & Innovation Center, TRX Exchange@106, Kuala Lumpur. The programme was conducted to provide students with exposure to current industry technologies, emerging innovations, and professional practices in the global technology sector. Throughout the summit, participants gained a deeper understanding of Huawei’s technological ecosystem and its contributions to digital transformation and innovation.

The sessions included an introduction to the Huawei ICT Programme, where students were informed about opportunities related to professional certifications, internship placements, and industry development programmes offered by Huawei. Participants were also exposed to the achievements and experiences of previous programme participants who successfully advanced their professional careers through involvement in Huawei initiatives. In addition, a representative from Huawei’s Operations and Management team delivered a presentation regarding the operational management of projects within Huawei and the company’s professional work culture. The session provided valuable insights into the expectations and working environment within the technology industry.

The summit also included technical demonstrations involving Huawei networking technologies. Students were introduced to the functions and applications of the Huawei S5732H Series Mainframe Switch, as well as the network structure of Huawei IVS1800 systems. Explanations were provided on how CCTV systems are connected and integrated with centralised storage infrastructures, allowing participants to better understand practical implementations of networking and surveillance technologies.

Furthermore, participants were given the opportunity to visit the Huawei AI Lab, where they observed various artificial intelligence solutions developed by Huawei to address real-world challenges. The visit showcased innovative technologies and solutions related to data centres, intelligent living infrastructure, and smart city development. This exposure enabled students to gain insights into the role of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in shaping future industries and urban ecosystems.

FC extends its sincere appreciation to Huawei Technologies Malaysia for the invitation and for sharing valuable industry knowledge and expertise with our students.
