We are proud to announce that the Bachelor of Science in Geoinformatics with Honours programme has received the Graduate Employability (GE) Award UTM 2024 (Undergraduate Category – Built Environment & Social Sciences). 🏆

Graduate Employability (GE) reflects how well a programme prepares its graduates for the workforce. It considers factors such as graduates securing employment, the relevance of their jobs to their field of study, and their readiness to meet industry demands. This recognition highlights the strength of the Geoinformatics Programme in producing capable, industry-ready professionals.

This achievement represents the continuous efforts of our academic staff, students, and alumni in building a programme that stays relevant and aligned with industry needs.

Just a few days ago, we were celebrating Usman’s remarkable hat-trick of achievements at UTM. He received the Dean’s List Award, the Best Postgraduate Student Award, and the prestigious Pro-Chancellor Award. Now his accomplishments are gaining attention beyond the university.

Dr. Usman Mehmood () has been featured on Samaa TV, a well-known national media outlet in Pakistan, for his exceptional academic journey and influential research in geoinformatics. He was the only international student invited to the convocation stage, and his contributions in 3D spatial analytics and smart building systems are now being recognized at an international level.

His PhD research was supervised by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Gs. Sr Dr. Muhamad Uznir Ujang.

Congratulations to our postgraduate student, Dr. Usman Mehmood who’s supervised by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Gs. Sr Dr. Muhamad Uznir Ujang.

Dr. Usman is a PhD graduate from the Geoinformatics programme. At the recent 69th Convocation, he was conferred the prestigious Pro-Chancellor Award, an honour presented to an outstanding PhD graduate who has demonstrated exceptional academic excellence and remarkable scholarly achievement.

In this convocation, the Pro-Chancellor Award was presented in the fields of Chemistry, Mathematics, Education, and our very own Geoinformatics, a testament to Geoinformatics standing proudly among these strong disciplines.

In a university enriched by international students from over 90 countries, he was the only international scholar invited to the stage to receive this award.

Besides that, Dr. Usman also received the Dean’s Award from the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying (FABU) and the Best Student Award from the School of Graduate Studies (SPS), UTM, further recognising his exceptional dedication, research excellence, and consistent academic performance.

We are truly proud of his hard work, perseverance, and commitment throughout his doctoral journey.

Wishing him continued success and impactful contributions in his future endeavours.
