📢 “Festivals in Motion: Global Perspectives on Chingay and Street Parade Cultures” International Conference
作为南方大学学院与新加坡国家文物局（NHB）联合推动、并获马来西亚国家遗产局（JWN）支持的《新马多元文化妆艺（Chingay）：起源、渊源与文化遗产价值》研究项目之一环，「流动中的节庆：全球视野下的妆艺及街头巡游文化」国际研讨会将于2026年8月7日至8日在南方大学学院隆重举行。本次盛会汇聚三十余位来自海内外大学及文化机构的专家学者与文化历史工作者齐聚一堂，将从全球视野深入探讨妆艺（Chingay）及街头巡游文化，促进跨地域、跨文化的精彩学术交流。
As an integral part of the collaborative research project "Multicultural Chingay in Singapore and Malaysia: Origins, Sources, and Heritage Value"—jointly driven by Southern University College and the National Heritage Board (NHB) of Singapore, and supported by the Jabatan Warisan Negara (JWN) of Malaysia—the International Conference on “Festivals in Motion: Global Perspectives on Chingay and Street Parade Cultures” will be grandly held from August 7th to 8th, 2026, at Southern University College.
This prestigious event will bring together over thirty esteemed scholars, experts, and cultural historians from local and international universities and cultural institutions. The conference aims to explore Chingay and street parade cultures through a global lens, fostering impactful cross-regional and cross-cultural academic exchange.

The grand Opening Ceremony of the conference and the Launching Ceremony of the Southern University College Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Safeguarding Centre will be held to officially unveil this two-day event.

The International Academic Conference officially commences! Featuring concurrent bilingual (Chinese and English) parallel sessions throughout the day, the conference dynamically integrates image exhibitions, documentary screenings, traditional cultural performances, and local storytelling. Engaging dialogues will revolve around diverse themes such as festival culture, intangible cultural heritage, and cultural tourism, offering participants an immersive and comprehensive experience of the rich historical heritage and unique charm of Chingay and street parade culture.
