A Sweet Journey of Learning at Beryl’s Chocolate Shop & Museum
Learning becomes more meaningful when students are able to see how ideas, processes, and business operations come together in the real world.
Students from Spectrum International University College (SIUC) recently visited Beryl’s Chocolate Shop & Museum, where they gained valuable exposure to the journey of chocolate production — from cocoa sourcing and manufacturing to packaging, branding, retail, and customer experience.
The visit offered students an opportunity to connect classroom learning with real industry practices while developing a deeper understanding of food production, business operations, innovation, marketing, and entrepreneurship.
This experience also reflects SIUC’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:
SDG 4 – Quality Education
Enhancing learning through experiential, industry-based exposure beyond the classroom.
SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
Introducing students to career pathways, business operations, and professional opportunities within the food manufacturing and retail sectors.
SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Providing insight into innovation, technology, production systems, and efficient business processes within the confectionery industry.
SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production
Encouraging greater awareness of sustainable production practices, responsible consumption, and the broader impact of food manufacturing.
Our appreciation to Beryl’s Chocolate Shop & Museum for welcoming our students and providing them with an engaging and memorable learning experience.
At SIUC, we believe that education should not only build knowledge, but also give students the opportunity to observe, experience, and understand how industries operate in practice.
