Congratulations to our University College Fairview (Foundation in Music) student, Jared Ng on his selection to the Asian Youth Orchestra 2026, one of Asia’s leading pre-professional orchestras.

As part of the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, he has demonstrated dedication, discipline, and a strong commitment to his craft. This next step with the AYO brings him into an international community of young musicians for advanced study, performance, and touring from 12 July to 23 August 2026.

An evening where music moves, and stories come alive ✨

We’re proud to share that Shi Yue, Fairview Foundation in Music alumni, will be taking the stage as the featured solo pianist with the Tutan Chamber Ensemble, presented by Tutan Entertainment.

Led by renowned British Conductor Laureate appears courtesy of Bentley Music Academy of the Tutan Festival Orchestra and Director of Academic & Artistic Development at Bentley Music Academy, Malaysia, this concert brings together powerful works shaped by rhythm, movement, and expression.

From the expressive pulse of tango to the sweeping beauty of classical masterpieces, this is more than a performance. For us, it’s a homecoming.

Learning, culture, and music came together at the Hello, Malaysia! 2026 China-Malaysia Youth International Arts Festival at Fairview International School Kuala Lumpur.

“Music and the performing arts are powerful languages of understanding, allowing young people to connect beyond words, borders, and differences,” shared Dr Evan during the opening ceremony.

The evening featured performances by the Fairview Youth Orchestra and Choir, alongside students from University College Fairview, reflecting how learning through the arts builds confidence, collaboration, and a shared sense of purpose across different stages of education.

Earlier in the day, students also took part in a music masterclass at the recital hall led by University College Fairview lecturer Chaing Yiling. Through focused, hands-on guidance in piano and performance, students deepened their technique, confidence, and understanding of music as a lifelong practice.

At Fairview, the arts are not just performances on stage. They are meaningful learning experiences that prepare students for life, not just exams.
