Dr Nauman's research explores how AI can be designed to become more accurate, explainable, secure, and trustworthy, with the ultimate goal of transforming AI research into solutions that can have tangible benefits beyond the laboratory.

Introducing this week's "FET Academic of the Week", Assoc. Prof. Dr Sim Tze Ying from School of Computing and Artificial Intelligence.

Dr Sim’s teaching approach involves students learning according to the GEM standard (Generate, Evaluate, Master), with each submission accompanied by an AI audit trail that records the questions they raise, where the AI tools may have gone wrong, and how their own analysis helped to identify and correct these issues.

Congratulations to Assoc. Prof. Dr Azam Che Idris on the successful completion of the AWS Cloud Technology Consultant Professional Certificate, awarded through Coursera in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

This achievement reflects a strong commitment to lifelong learning and professional development in cloud computing and digital technologies. Through the completion of this comprehensive nine-course programme, Dr Azam has gained valuable knowledge and practical skills in AWS cloud services, technical consulting, application development, DevOps, automation, data analytics, and cloud solution implementation.

The programme introduced the fundamental concepts of AWS cloud technology and its role within modern IT infrastructure. It also provided insights into Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) principles, web and mobile application development, and how cloud technologies support evolving enterprise needs and digital transformation initiatives.

The successful attainment of this certification demonstrates dedication, perseverance, and a proactive approach to staying current with industry trends and technological advancements. From Sunway College to Sunway University, and now to the top of the podium! 🏆

A huge congratulations to Koay Yun Sheng (Bachelor of Mechatronic Engineering (Robotics) with Honours) and Amberly Teoh Ke Wei (BSc (Hons) in Computer Science) from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Sunway University, on being crowned Champions at the Axiata Foundation ULDP CEO Challenge.

What makes this achievement even more meaningful is that both Yun Sheng and Amberly began their academic journey at Sunway College as AUSMAT and Sunway University Foundation in Arts students before progressing to Sunway University. Their success is a wonderful reflection of how talent continues to grow across the Sunway Education ecosystem.

The CEO Challenge was the final stage of the two-week ULDP programme, where participants had just two days to transform their ideas into business solutions and pitch them to a panel. Competing against some of the brightest young talents, Yun Sheng and Amberly not only emerged as champions but were also recognised among the Top 25 Performers of ULDP Cohort 16.

With more than 900 applicants, only 95 participants were selected for the programme, and just three students represented Sunway University.

We're incredibly proud to see our students demonstrating leadership, innovation and resilience on such a prestigious platform. Congratulations once again, Yun Sheng and Amberly—we can't wait to see where your journey takes you next! 👏

Congratulations to Faculty of Engineering and Technology students Koay Yun Sheng (Bachelor of Mechatronic Engineering (Robotics) with Honours) and Amberly Teoh Ke Wei (BSc (Hons) in Computer Science) on being crowned Champions of the Axiata Foundation ULDP CEO Challenge.

The CEO Challenge marked the culmination of the two-week University Leadership Development Programme (ULDP), where participants were required to apply the knowledge, leadership capabilities, and strategic frameworks acquired throughout the programme to develop and pitch a business idea within just two days.

In addition to securing the championship title, both students were recognised among the Top 25 Performers of ULDP Cohort 16, selected from a highly competitive cohort of 95 participants. This year, the programme attracted over 900 applications, with only three students selected to represent Sunway University.

Their outstanding accomplishment reflects exceptional dedication, innovation, leadership, and the ability to excel in a competitive environment. Their success is a testament to the quality of talent nurtured at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and serves as an inspiration to their peers.

We are immensely proud of their achievement and the distinction they have brought to Sunway University.
