Our Year 3 students from the Bachelor of Electronic and Electrical Engineering with Honours programme enrolled in the Communication Systems course recently had the privilege of visiting Rohde & Schwarz (R&S) Malaysia for an enriching industrial visit that provided valuable exposure to the latest communication technologies and engineering practices.
The visit was led by Ts. Dr. Ngu War Hlaing, Ts. Pyi Phyo Aung and Prof. Ir. Rosdiadee Nordin.
We sincerely appreciate Mr. Lim Soon Jin, Head of Sales and Marketing, R&S Malaysia, for sharing his valuable industry experience and perspectives on communication technologies, business operations, and the future of the engineering profession.
Our heartfelt thanks also go to Ms. Carmen Tan, Human Resources Manager, for her inspiring session, Engineering Your Tomorrow, where she shared valuable insights on career development, workplace ethics, and the qualities expected of future engineers.
We would also like to express our gratitude to Mr. Randy Song, Application Engineer, for his informative technical presentation on Communication Technology Throughput Measurement, which gave our students a deeper understanding of real-world communication system testing and performance evaluation.
A special thank you goes to Mr. Pua Ze Long, Test & Measurement Solution Provider, for his outstanding support in coordinating this industrial visit between Rohde & Schwarz (R&S) Malaysia and Sunway University. His dedication in facilitating the collaboration and sharing practical insights into the company's advanced technologies greatly enriched our students' learning experience.
The interactive sharing sessions, engaging Q&A, exciting prizes, thoughtful souvenirs, and warm hospitality made the visit an unforgettable experience for everyone. Most importantly, our students had the opportunity to connect the theories learned in the classroom with real industrial applications, interact with experienced professionals, and gain a clearer understanding of the skills and mindset required to succeed in the engineering industry.
On behalf of Sunway University, we sincerely thank everyone at Rohde & Schwarz (R&S) Malaysia for their generous hospitality, knowledge sharing, and unwavering support in nurturing the next generation of engineers. We look forward to building an even stronger partnership and creating more opportunities for meaningful industryโacademia collaboration in the future.
