Exploring the world of food science beyond the classroom! 🧪🥛✨

Our Food Science Innovation Program organised an exciting field visit to Yakult Malaysia Sdn Bhd, located in Oakland, Negeri Sembilan. This experience gave students valuable insights into the science behind one of the world’s most well-known probiotic drinks.

From learning about the rich history of Yakult to understanding the health benefits of probiotics, students gained a deeper appreciation of how science contributes to everyday nutrition. The highlight of the visit was a guided tour of the processing line, where we observed each step of production — from seed culture preparation, formulation, mixing, and homogenisation, to filling, packaging, and storage.

This experience not only strengthened our understanding of food processing technologies but also highlighted the crucial role of food science and innovation in ensuring product quality, safety, and functionality in the food industry.
