It was initially formed to compete in ROBOCON Competition but it has gradually evolved to serve as a platform for robotics advancement for undergraduates. The team consists of students from multi-disciplinary backgrounds such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Business Information System, and Information

Communication Technology. Our team has participated in various robotics competitions, robotics research, event management, and marketing activities. PETROBOTS main objective is to create platform to exercise and promote new and existing ideas of robotics among UTP student. Besides that, it also provides platforms for UTP students to learn and acquire ability to apply theories into practice, nurture creativity and innovativeness in robotics and engineering and to instil the 7 attributes of well-rounded students.

[ PETROBOTS AUTODESK WORKSHOP ]

On 26 November 2022, PETROBOTS drew the curtains for our 2022 workshop series with the AutoDesk Workshop, which was held online via Microsoft Teams 🎉

This workshop is targeted to introduce CAD software to PETROBOTS members who will be participating in ROBOCON 2023. Throughout the 3-hour workshop, participants were able to grasp the skills and knowledge in utilising AutoDesk Fusion 360 to construct 2D and 3D designs with the guidance of the invited speaker, Mr. Tan Ming Jie.

[ PETROSAINS RBTX CHALLENGE ]

In conjunction with the Malaysia Techlympics 2022, Petrosians RBTX Challenge 2022 was held at Dewan Sri Putra, Bukit Jalil following three main themes: Robo Sumo, Robo Tracer, and Innovation.

With each team consisting of two students, competing in the Innovation Varsity Category, all three teams advanced into the Grand Finals and successfully secured themselves a spot on the podium🔥.

With magnificent projects from each team, Rorobo lead the podium by coming up as the winner, followed by the UTP2-2.0 Team as runner-up, and UTP Team as the 2nd runner-up 🎉.

On behalf of UTP PETROBOTS, we would like to congratulate all teams for their astounding achievements in the competition. We hope this success can inspire the UTP community to engage further in the innovation and robotics industry. Together we will make UTP and the world a better place, through science and innovation✨

[ MALAYSIA TECHLYMPICS 2022 ]

On 26 & 27 November 2022, the Malaysia Techlympics 2022 were held at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil. Endorsed by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), this competition was organised to uphold the STEM and innovation industry among students alligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, and the MySTIE10x10 by MOSTI.

For Malaysia Techlympics 2022, UTP sent one team to compete in the 3.3B-Drone Innovation Challenge Category. Due to the diligence and hard work of these two students, they successfully attained FIRST PLACE for the category 🔥🎉

[ PETROBOTS ROBOTICS CSR WORKSHOP ]

Previously from 8/11/2022, PETROBOTS hosted a robotics workshop at ELC International School Sg. Buloh, Brighton International School and ELC International School Cyberjaya, as a CSR programme under UTP PETROBOTS Club. With a total of 150 participants, the workshop was executed with flying colors together with 9 facilitators 🤖🦾.

Throughout the 2 days workshop, the participants were able to complete the basics of arduino & robotics module. The workshop received astounding feedbacks from the students and teachers as they had a splendid time with the PETROBOTS members exploring and learning about robotics👨🏼‍🎓. On behalf of the organising committees, UTP PETROBOTS would love to give our heartfelt gratitude to the school for having us and we are looking forward to more programmes together ❤️

[ CHEME CUBE COMPETITION ]

UTP PETROBOTS would like to gladly wish UTP Team ALL THE BEST for the 2022 ChemE Cube Competition ✊🏼🔥

Launched in 2020, the ChemE Cube is an annual competition for undergraduate students to design, build, and demonstrate a 1 cubic foot plant for the respective problem statement of the year.

Competing against 7 other universities under the theme "Modular On-Demand Water Purification in Developing Countries", the UTP team will face their opponents on 14 November 2022 at the Annual AIChE Student Conference in Phoenix, Arizona 🇺🇸

Greetings ✨️

We are looking for people who are highly skilled in building robots to join the International competition Robocon 2023, which will be held on 28th August 2023. For your information, the host for this Robocon is CAMBODIA 🇰🇭

Robocon is an Asian-Oceanian college robot competition, founded in 2002 by Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union. In this competition, robots from various universities will compete to complete a task within a set period of time. The aims for this competition are to create friendship among young people with similar interests who will lead their countries in the 21st century, as well as help advance engineering and broadcasting technologies in the region.

[ABU ROBOCON MALAYSIA 2022]

From 2 to 5 June 2022, UTP Petrobots Club participated in the ABU Asia-Pacific Robocon Malaysia 2022, held in Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang.

After weeks and months of struggle, constant hard work and diligence from the team members, UTP Petrobots Club successfully finished at 14th place out of 24 teams that participated in the competition ✨

With that, we would like to congratulate all the members for the amazing achievement and send our deepest gratitude for their consistent enthusiasm and perseverance in creating two robots for the competition. We hope that the time spent throughout the preparation and competition period will be a valuable memory for everyone. Now, it is time to prepare for the next Robocon and come back stronger 🔥✊🏼
